I have a 94 and there are two rocker switched on my console. I know the one on the left is for my front fog lights. I have no idea what the one on the right is for. O removed the plate and saw that it is wired to something but I don't know what it could be. If it operates nothing why would it have wiring connected to it? Any ideas? Thanks.

I think it had to do with a rear light (rear fog lights?) for the export Vipers. I know my Volvo has a switch on the dash for the rear fog lights.

Would it be normal to have it pre wired even though it does not have rear fogs?

I can't remember if mine was wired on my Gen1. I know some guys would wire the garage door opener to it. There was a how to for it on the old VCA site years ago.

Don,

My 94 has the same thing. The switch has 4 wires but isn't connected to anything. I guess it was cheaper to leave the extra switch than to make a second bezel with only one switch.

Thanks Tim, I kinda thought that might be the situation.

It is a switch-to-nowhere from the factory. I too seem to recall that it was reserved for lights for export markets that had different light requirements.

Another common aftermarket thing that sometimes owners would hook it up to is the engine radiator fan, so that driver could manually turn on some extra cooling of the engine when needed.

Back in the old days, it was known as the "mystery" switch. Some used it to activate their garage door opener.

I used mine as a Nitrous activation switch.
