Hey Gents,
Was driving around and as I was changed lanes and over the cats-eyes the suspension put itself in Race mode and would not change back until I got to my destination and restarted the car.. On the drive back the same happened again. (GTS 2013)
Any ideas of root cause before I take it to my dealer who doesn't get many Vipers?
Appreciate your input..

There is an electrical connection for each coilover. Make sure one is not loose. Happened to me once and as soon as I fixed the connector all was well.

Is there a code? If the circuit is open it defaults to RACE mode there is a code, if no code then could be a module?

No code popped up. I will be checking the connections.
Thank you for your inputs. I'll keep you guys posted.

By my recollection, the protocol for checking out this problem on Gen V Vipers is to: Check connections at shocks and module in the "trunk", check resistance on wires between module and shock...if OK next step is to swap out module. If problem still not corrected, replace the shock in question.

forgive my ignorance, but are you referring to these guys? They seem to be alright but the gaps were filled by gravel. I couldn't find the other end of it, checked the fuse box as well some slightly out of position but nothing major.

Can you please tell me where I can find this module in the trunk?

Well good luck in finding the issue. I feel your pain, my 96' RT/10 has been stuck in Race Mode since I bought it. I gave up trying to find out why. :)

That is so awesome! How come I didn't think of that? I'm going to Starbucks and if I see another high performance car it is so on. Plus, if I get a ticket, Jon B is responsible cause he gave me the idea. : )

Why all the race discrimination in here? Clearly the car was telling you that you were driving it too slow.

Lokien, it is under the "trunk" mat and panel.

My 2013 Gts automatically switches into race mode after normal driving. The car won't switch back to street mode.brought it to the dealer and they can't figure out why.

Mark:
The codes in the dash are they only related environmental issues, yes or no? When I check with a scanner, in many cases there are no codes on the dash, but, the scanner picks them up.
Is there a code? If the circuit is open it defaults to RACE mode there is a code, if no code then could be a module?

I had that happen. It was a module, I think under the center console, that failed. It was cover under warranty. The did have to order the part which took a couple of days.

Glad that it will default to race mode, that's how it should be!

My 13' GTS is just sitting at the dealer. They have no idea why it is race mode. Maybe somebody can call them and tell them how to fix it.
