I just finished reinstalling the gas cap and will post some pictures tomorrow. Here are some of the issues to watch out for:

1. You have to sand blast the cap to remove the plating prior to powder coating.

2. The cap is held on with four self cutting clips that have a 10 mm hex head. You should buy four new clips when you do the reinstall. The clips are for a 3/16" post.

3. The rear top clip is hard to access. There is a horizontal plate/gusset that sits below the cap. To remove and reinstall the rear/top clip you have to access the post through the plate from the underside (there is a hole in the plate), not, from top of the plate. It is counter intuitive, but, it is the best way to access that post. Insert the clip into a 10 mm x 1/4" socket with a short ratchet and push the clip over the stud. Just a guess, but, if you have a body shop do the job they will only put three clips back on.

4. Just in case you want to order an extra gas cap and have it powder coated to shorten the project cycle, the 2013 gas cap had a price of $285, the 2014-2015 now has a price of $985. That came from a good dealer source. They are probably the same cap, that is a guess.

Just an FYI, my cap would not stay closed until I got the hard to reach nut back on and tightened properly.
