I've been on the VCA for a long time but honestly never posted that often. I should hopefully be a little more active in the future with the car so thought I'd introduce myself. I've had the '94 for years but unfortunately it has been in storage for most of it. The car was my fathers and I grew up driving it, including learning how to drive a manual in it and taking it to my highschool graduation. Fortunately I was able to find a way to keep it when he passed. My wife and I were busy with school and are finally getting settled somewhere for the foreseeable future. We're moving to Arkansas and the roads up in the mountains look unreal. Really looking forward to seeing the area. I attached a photo of the car when i pulled it out of storage... sadly there is a layer of dust covering it. I forgot to take a photo after the clay bar and polish. :Canada:

Welcome to the VOA, Very nice post. Have the fluids been gone thru and have the tires been changed recently? Gotta love the R/T 10's

Thanks! Yea I had the oil changed, transmission fluid changed, coolant flushed, and a new set of PS2's put on as soon as it came out of storage. I then went on a 500mile road trip and it didn't skip a beat. Head gaskets were changed back in '02 so those shouldn't be an issue. I am still debating on either trailering it, shipping it, or just driving it to Arkansas. Its in Calgary, Alberta right now.

Thanks, guys! Wasn't the plan to leave Canada, but at this time and in our careers there is more opportunity south of the border. So far I think I'll be doing the 2000 mile road trip in May.

Welcome and what a cool story about your RT/10. Remember, you need to sell your snow thrower before you move south. :)

The road trip would be fun, but I'd almost be tempted to trailer it down with that distance. Hard choice, as May should be nice weather. Roads might still be in rough shape from the winter, but how often do you get an opportunity to take a road trip like this?

BTW, how do you like your Lemke top?

Welcome!!

Arkansas has some of the Best mountain roads in the U. S. The area around Branson and Eureka Springs is awesome and a great place for the kids to explore. I hope you get a chance to call some of our Mid-South members and cruise together!!

Welcome to a great group of folks! I say drive your pride and joy down - nothing like a long road trip to really enjoy and appreciate your car! I drove my '08 from Houston to NVE1 in Detroit and home and had a blast! I love to drive - that's why she's got 62k miles on her.

Agreed! Its got about 30,000 miles on it, whats a couple thousand more :p. I completely forgot but I did find a couple photo's after a wash but before any polishing, with my nephews.

The Lemke top has been great. Its definitely not completely sealed at the back of the drivers side window though. Once I've got the car with us and some more time I'll see if i can get it a bit better. Its still much better than the factory soft top and windows though, those always leaked and made so much noise on the highway. I don't think the Lempke top is being made anymore, I was lucky enough to catch them in the summer of 2013 right when they were making a batch. It still needs to get painted.

Several years ago I saw a picture on the "other" forum of a guy's odometer reading 250,000 miles and I decided at that time I would strive to beat it . . . I'm about 25% there so I have alot of driving ahead of me!!!!

Was definitely a lucky kid! I believe I stalled it once if I remember right. Made most other cars very boring afterwards though haha.
