View Full Version : Can we read AFR out of the OBD port?
On my past mustangs and my current GT500, I read the AF from the OBD port, current setup I use Aeroforce gauges (shows AFR/Boost/RPM/timing) or whatever you want, but that's my config for my mods.
I'm wondering if we can read it from the gen5? I thumbed through monitor options for data logging on my Actron scanner plugged into the gen5 & didn't see it listed, just O2 fore& aft voltage, etc., but wondering if I missed it, or ...
I'd like to data log with the stock PCM and with my Venom controller (getting installed next week),

I'm going to say no - the O2 sensors are narrow band, and are thus only useful for maintaining stoich. If these cars used a wideband O2, then it would be possible. The most you can log is commanded AFR and the other usual suspects that go along with narrow band O2s (fuel trims, voltage, etc.).
If you want to log AFR, you'll need a stand alone unit and a way to integrate that data with what's coming off the OBD-II port.
You will need a scanner package like HPT offers

The hpt pro connector allows you to bring in an analog signal. It actually has the built in firmware for several diff types of widebands. It is hard to go wrong with the innovate wideband.
I run the innovate wideband and the Dashdaq gauge pack, it also has two analogs in. When I log all the non-enhanced pids integrate with the wideband.

Correct...the only reason I didn't throw out that option was because the OP went with the Arrow PCM. People often forget that HPT also comes with a very powerful scanner, but I can't see someone dropping even more coin just to bring in wideband O2 data. Then again, I could be wrong.
