I have the oportunity to buy a 2004 Ram SRT-10, 24000 miles, for 16K. The problem is that the truck was damaged and repaired back in 2005 but it was totaled by the insurance company so the title is not clean. I saw the pics and it was only rear damages. It's fast red:t1567: and I think it would be nice along my car.....Do you think it worth it or I shouldn't touch it?

Go check it out and as long as the repairs were done correctly sounds like a great price, can you get some pics?

You can get those truck with a clean title for a couple thousand more why mess with a salvage unless it's a smokin deal.

Rear end usually is not as bad as the front end, if possible it would good if you can find out what was repaired/replaced. If it was totaled, it must have been extensive. That is a good price though and worth looking at. Good Luck

If you have intentions of keeping it for a long time the title doesn't matter just make sure it's solid but from a resale point you have to get it for the lowest price to come out ok when you resale it . Good luck hope to see the pics

Spend 150 in gas money and a 5 hour trip and it will land you a nice clean truck here in the Toronto area for almost that price..here are couple...

mid you they are in Sudbury and thunder bay, but still around the 5 hour mark. For paying almost the same money, in fact one is cheaper than your salvaged one, you get a nice clean titles truck. Its worth the drive.

Seems mileage is the big factor on these trucks for their value. At that price range, you can get a nice truck with 100k+ miles that has never had anything done to it. Would seem a better way to go.

Well I finally saw the truck and it looked ok, no more, as it was windy and snowing, the pics looked bad. I know now that I won't go that way, the salvage title buggsme too much and I don't want an high millage so I'll be on the look out for one because those truck are cool !!! Thanks for your advices !!|!

I think a truck frame would even be easier.

Don't be scared of a car or truck that has had significant work done to it. I have a 1998 lexus that was rolled over so we cut the roof off and welded another that was 15 1/2 years ago.... Still driving it till today. At all depends on who did the work and if they know what they are doing.

Dodge trucks viper or not go through suspension components like nobodies business. Every year expect to change front hubs and pads and rotors. Dodge trucks are ladder framed so if the box was smashed you can easily put on another. If the frame was twisted it might me tough but a good frame straightener can deal with it. The upside to the Dodge truck is that many components are interchangeable between the regular 1500 2500 3500. So its not so bad.

Just a Silly Quote form a Silly movie ( comedy),

BUT electrical gremlins are the real issue with a major front end hit. Rear hits not so much.

Also possible alignment issues with the driveline.

My advice, don't buy a salvage title.

Unless you just want to beat it to death.
