Hey for all you track guys that run 335's on front, what size rim are you running?
And what advantage do you see mostly from this over a 275, 295, or even a 315 etc? Mostly braking?

I've run 335's all squared up on my track car. Braking is great, but the rear end can get squirmy under breaking. I use a 12.5" wide rims which allows a 305, 315 or 335. Turn in is better with a 305 or 315. You will also put extra stress on your front bearings and your steering components but going fast costs money.

18s all the way around but 305s in the front. Great set up with no full lock rub and less understeer. Car rotates nicely.

I used 12.5" Forgelines when I had my GTS to run 335 square. Loved it. If you are running a Gen 2 I highly suggest the anti toe brackets to help stabilize the rear of the car as well.

Thanks for the info. I'm running 18's all the way around as well, with 335 on rear and 275 up front. BFG R1's. I don't have anti-lock brakes so that's why I was contemplating 335 up front. Probably going to A7's next, so limited to either 335 or a 295 if I stay at 18's.

Well, I was going to post a nice photo of my car on 12.5/13.5x17 Purners and 335's, but despite over 3200 posts at the mORGue, and almost 10k at VA, I can't post any photos here.

Front rims that wide will rub the sway bar at full lock. On a lowered car at full bump with a turned wheel, they will rub the fender lip of the hood. On a medium-tight coned slalom section of a 2 mile temp road course, I was overtaking a Formula Continental car! Man, that guy was some kinda' dazed and confused over that one!

A 315 tire is about all you'll ever need for 96% of the track time you are ever likely to be running.
edit - I figured it out...

I was at a Porsche DE/Time Trial one weekend and heard some scraping behind me. I saw a little formula car roll up on a Sloan QuickLoad and was intrigued. I snapped a couple of photos and fired up AutoCAD then bought some thin deckplate, 4" channel, purlins and got busy building my own tilt-deck. It will fit a B-body Mopar comfortably and rolls on 3500# torsion axles. I had a couple of take-off sleeper boxes laying around the company and decided it would be a perfect stone guard and lockable storage box. I cut the bottom 20" off to keep the height down, then narrowed it 8" and re-riveted the box together. I finished it just in time for towing my '93 up to Indy for VOI 3.

A lot of people have tried to buy it from me. The biggest problem I have with it is people riding along next to it gawking at the Viper and not watching the road.
