The SRT guys I spoke to said they tried to do it in reverse first, but the rear end kept lifting off the ground anywhere over 100 MPH. Poor design IMO.

Unless the Gen V ACR has drastic changes (transmission, power, aero, tires). I don't think it will do a better time than an ACR-X (gutted: 3200lbs, 640hp/605tq, race slicks).
ACR: Nurburgring 7:12.13, Gingerman 1:26.7
ACR-X: Nurburgring 7:03.058, Gingerman 1:22.7
Nismo GT-R: Nurburgring 7:08.68

Just referencing some times, I hope Dodge can smack that GTR around. It would be awesome to see the Gen V ACR get 7:05 and the ACR X get sub 7.

You know the article is nonsense when they say it was done back in late October. The ACR concept car wasn't even finished until late October and there is no way they could have gotten it over to Germany done the testing and sent it back in time for the event.

The ACR was a concept only, just a show car. Although they are likely developing a real ACR right now, the show car was not developed or optimized by SRT Engineering. There is no way they have run the 'Ring in a Gen V ACR.

This thread perfectly expresses the differences between the corvette forum and this forum. Z06 time was posted on that site claiming sub-7:00.00 and most of Corvette Forum geniuses believed it, and still do. Similar mentioned here and no one is even trying to convince themselves that it's true.

I'm also thoroughly disappointed in our Viper fanboys here, because nobody has stepped in to tell us how this is legit and that anything posted on the internet is true. We had dozens of Corvette fanboys try to convince us that the 6.59 'Ring story was legit, and even made dozens of excuses on why it would indeed run that number.

So if new fake Z06 time is 6:59, then then the new fake ACR time should be 1.2% faster, or 6:55.566542341354 seconds. However, I logically deduct 3 seconds because the fake ACR does has a not-legal-for-street-use front splitter. But of course, we still have to multiply by the Farnbacher constant. New fake time: 6:57.69. I do warn you that I did have to integrate this equation over a "no a/c" function, and this model does come with the optional Nurburgring edition bleacher instead of a park bench.


I am emailing the horsepower kings webmaster now, updating the fastest laps site, and finishing up in with Wikipedia green hell site.

Well, as I understand it the time is completely real, but they had BOTH of these performance enhancers on the car, making the time not quite authentic.
