View Full Version : Wet Passenger Floor After Washing?

I've noticed that the passenger floorboard gets wet after washing the car. I would assume it's either a clogged drain area or possibly a draing hole that's supposed to route water somewhere, but maybe something with the routing has come loose?
Can anyone who's had this issue and figured it out give me an idea of what/where to look to correct it?

How wet is it? Ive noticed that sometimes when i wash my GEN IV i get water on the floor boards but its due to spraying water between the bottom of the door and the top of the sill.
OP, sorry to hear about that. Has this always happened after washing your Viper, or did this start after some work was done on your Viper?

I've noticed the same problem in my '06 coupe and my '03 vert.
My '06 coupe's problem was that the hose that drains the AC condensation was unattached and leaking onto the passenger floorboard. The hose uses a plastic clip (was broken) to attach it to the transmission tunnel where it drains out underneath the car. Take a look up in the passenger floorboard and make sure the connection is ok.
My '03 vert seems like it's a problem with the door/window seals. Every time I wash my car, I lay a microfiber towel on each door sill where the seal runs between the door/car. Since I started this, I have not noticed any damp carpets in either floorboard.

Thanks guys. I'll do some looking around and try the towel trick.
I've noticed dampness every now and then for as long as I can remember, but rarely felt the floorboard right after washing the car. I just really noticed it this time since I was moving the sub right after washing the car.

The passenger floorboard is wet. I know what causes the seat to get wet. ;

My 2006 vert had all sorts of problems when it rained. after nearly 18 months of searching, it ended up being the window seal that is inside the doors. It was a bad dseign and allowing water to run down the inside of the door, between the door itself and the door card. It would exit the door immediately above the door seal on the body, flow around it and down the sill onto the carpet. Chrysler had a different design that was fitted and the problem was solved

I wonder if the replacement seal will do the trick. I have the same problem, especially when their is heavy rain. The cockpit creates so much heat, it fogs my windows up. I keep DampRid inside to draw in the moisture.
