The phone retailer refers to the uConnect as udontConnect so I figured I better ask! I'm looking to switch over from a Blackberry if all is good.

I have the GTS/TA uConnect 8.4AN system in mine with the April 1st, 2014 update. Can I see a show of hands for those that it does work well for, including reading of text messages, and any issues from others. I did a search and got no results. Thank you

Bruce, it is all bluetooth so you should be good.

Canadian giving up their Blackberry? Heretic!

I don't know about the S5's; but my Samsung Note3 connects via Bluetooth very quickly and operates as it should. No issues.

"Should" is a sentiment expressed by many owners on the Z06 forum who expected the car should go more than 4 laps without issues, and should handle a Viper better;)

Perhaps some should have bought a Viper...but should they also buy a Samsung S5? Google search shows some issues with other Chrysler products with the 8.4 AN, but I don't know if they've had the updates or are issues specific to those particular car models for some reason.

Hopefully some S5 users will chime in.

And I guess I am a heretic...haha!

I have a 2008 Dodge Nitro with the u-connect system and have connected my Samsung S3, S4, S5 and Note 4 without any issues. My 04 Viper has a double-din Kenwood which is also ok :)

Upgrade your radio firmware with the directions from driveuconnect.com - it will not have any issues compatibility wise.

My new Samsung Note4 Edge works fine with my 2014 Viper GTS. That said, I just use voice recognition calling, listening to messages, etc. I am not an intensive smartphone user, especially when driving the Viper.

Not only did my S5 active connect to my new Jeep Overland with uConnect, but the text to speech to text feature is uber cool, the car reads incoming texts to me and I talk back & it takes dictation ... now if only it could go grab me a cup of coffee and rub my feet.

I've used both an S3 & S5 in my Viper, Ram Trucks, Jeep, and all works well. Flawless.

I have an S5 as well, and use it on multiple uConnect vehicles from Vipers to Jeeps, both MyGig and uConnect 8.4N based systems. No issues.
