This is a HUGE win for the Viper Nation. Ben was gracious enough to say "it was for the Viper Nation" from the winners' circle. Guys, imagine, Chrysler abandons racing and a privateer goes out with the Viper and beats all the factory supported teams. Chrysler is really missing the point of racing. Obviously, GM thought it was important for Corvette, as did Ferrari, BMW, Porsche, and other factory backed teams. These are the events that bring credibility to the Viper. Chrysler, take the money that you DON'T spend advertising Vipers and put it in our road racing efforts. Thank you Ben for putting the Riley team together and showing the racing world what we have.

The #93 GTD car would have placed 4th in GTLM on inferior tires and inferior aero package.

I hope Dodge gets NO credit or exposure for this as they abandoned Riley and VE. They need to pull their heads out of their asses at HQ.

Does anyone know the real story of why dodge actually pulled out of GTLM? I assume they realized that a championship season did not garner more sales therefore cancelled the program...

I am proud of the team and Viper nation. This really was a great accomplishment from an underdog that seemed to have little chance of even making the top three, let alone winning, after all that went wrong. Between the flat tire, wheel popping off, possums, and no manufacturer support, this one goes into the history books. Great job and great teamwork! The Viper still is an amazing car.

I missed the final part of the broadcast on Sunday but I had a gut feeling they were going to do it. Just imagine if they were in GTLM. Great win by a great team and I think we are all getting spoiled by the wins now lol...Its obvious these cars are top tier racers. Dodge please get back in the game fully or continue to support these guys till you can make a solid return to racing financially. COI I am very glad to hear Dodge threw in support of the team. It would have been very sad if they abandoned their baby completely.

I second Eachey51 on the model...Hopefully Dodge will license Auto Art to make both the original livery and the red/white heritage livery of the GTLM cars and the GTD Viper livery. It would be great to have it as well to add to my Auto Art Oreca 2000 model.

Easy there. I was there for the entire weekend and had a chance to spend time with the TI Automotive team. From what I heard from the team, Dodge did provide some support and clearly didn't "abandon Riley and VE." I don't know the full extent of the support but I know one of the best, if not the best, Viper engineer was there in the pits providing assistance (who is a Dodge employee).

It also should be noted that TI Automotive is the primary sponsor for the four long-distance races in the Tudor series and will be an associate sponsor for the remaining races. It's great to see the passion of the Viper Exchange leadership and everyone involved with the team stepping up and contributing. Without everyone's support I doubt they would have been able to have the quality of drivers, crew and equipment that they did for the Rolex 24. I had a great time and appreciated the chance to see the Viper so competitive on the track with some of the best cars/drivers in the world. Kudos to everyone involved.

That sound you heard both before, and especially after this race: the despair of every other GTD team. They hate FCA dropping GTLM just as much as we do; it provided a massive talent dump into the GTD cars. "Seriously", they're saying: "the guy that won the GTLM driver's championship is now going to drive a GTD entry??? and bring his two Viper pro buddies along???"

That huge emptiness in GTLM: Viper vs. Corvette. Sad, really sad.

Well done to the entire team, and thanks so much to Keating, Katz, Riley, and TI for giving us Vipers in both the Tudor and endurance seasons.

Now if only we could see a bit more of them during the broadcast...
