Super excited to put these Forgelines on the Viper today.

Look good, but rear 19x12.5s seem to be off. Only room to barely fit a business card between spokes and brake calipers - seems dangerous (like the wrong centers were used in the wheel builds).

My rear calipers on aftermarket wheels are VERY tight as well. Probably 1-1.5mm. That's ok. Just torque ALL the lugnuts down to spec and spin the wheels around in neutral on the jack or lift. If they clear, than they clear....they aren't going to flex on the car.

Concerned if a grain of sand or pebble gets in there while I'm driving.

To my eyes, there should be a 3-4 mm spacer between the center and rim flange with bolts to tuck the wheels under a bit more (they almost stick out too much), and then 2mm more left on the pad.

Did you order them brand new or used?

Don, all the Forgelines fit the Viper like that. The fitment is correct, the wheels do not flex, and the calipers do not move. If we were to add more (unnecessary) space between the spoke, you'd have to give up another half inch of lip depth and end up with a heavier wheel due to a thicker hub area. I've had the same 1-2mm spacing on my own car, for years now. Several 200+ mph passes and track days. All of their racing wheels are similar. Here is another photo of the same wheel on another Viper.

Same setup on my own car:

Same here. I prefer this fitment/look.

Lots of personal preference involved with wheel offset appearance/cosmetics. I had inadvertently bought the wrong wheels (used) for my car and the offset was pushed out way too far for my liking, or for the first person who came to look at them to buy them. The second person bought them specifically for the look. Go figure.

I love the way they look from the side. But the rears stick out too far. I just measured with a level - they are moved out another 1/2" (despite being only 12.5" rims) vs. stock 13" which is still on the other side of the car.

Irony is that I avoided cheaper Gen 5 Sidewinders because they look like they stick out too far. These stick out farther.

I may talk to Forgeline about options to rebuild the rear wheels before I drive with them...

I guess I'll roll with 'em as they are. I'll post some pics when the weather is decent.

Nice wheels! I like the center caps too!

Tony those look like 19" nitto drag radials. How do those hook on the street? Have you run those at the drag track, just curious what kinda 60' you could cut with those?

Those look fine! You are being to picky...

Same offsets have been used on Forgeline wheels for several years now. This is the first time someone has complained about fitment. Forgeline tries to maximize the track width, to improve track performance. Lowering a car also makes them look better.

This isn't a track car. I've driven track events and would not do it with expensive wheels like these.

Here were the order specs. We ultimately went with narrower 12.5" rims:

>> > Gunmetal powdercoat with the center engraved
>> > aluminum cap (unless they have something with a Viper/SRT logo)
>> > Outer rims polished, but with clear powdercoat over them
>> > No exposed fasteners
>> > 19x13 rears, standard offset, with 345/30 MPSS (unless it makes sense to
>> > move the rears out by 3-4mm)
>> > 18x10 fronts, standard offset, with 285/35 MPSS

Update - and thank you to Tony. I hated the uncomfortable feeling that this had the makings of.

Spoke to Forgeline and they are going to rebuild the rears with 1/2" less offset. Tony had already communicated before I called, so that surely helped. Many people might have preferred them the way they came - so understandable all the way around - but I was just looking to keep the look a little less tuner/aggressive on this convertible. And it's a lot of $$.

Forgeline and Tony just made a stressful situation a lot less stressful.

I will keep all posted when finally set up in a few weeks.

Received the rear wheels back from Forgeline, now with only -1mm offset added vs. OEM (vs. -13/14mm before). Then 6mm spacer added. Look great now at about -7mm, and more brake clearance. Thanks again to Tony and Forgeline.

(By the way, have no idea how to post large images from gallery here.)

Nice...did you get the weights on the bare wheels before you mounted the tires by any chance?

I have the same wheels on my car. Two sets of rear wheels (18s and 19s)

Thanks for the info!

Those are their 3-piece wheels, correct? Do you have any monoblock weights?

Yes, those are all 3-piece wheels. Monoblocks are generally lighter, usually 2-3 lbs lighter per wheel, in similar sizes.
