Just a reminder for everybody who plans to attend the February 7th event to register by THIS FRIDAY!!!! This will ensure the club will be parked together at the event. Online registration ends Feb 1st, but those who sign up that late may not be guaranteed a spot with the rest of the club. It's likely they will assign us a space based on how many pre-register. Sign-up in advance and your cost is only $50, if you show up to the event, it will be $60. All the money is donated to charity, the boys and girls clubs of greater Scottsdale so it's for a good cause.
Register online here: http://concoursinthehills.org/index.php/signup/
We will meet at Airpark at 8:00 AM on the morning of the show with the planned departure at 8:30 AM.
We will also do dinner that night at Stone and Vine Urban Italian, you are invited regardless of your attendance at the show.
This was a fantastic show last year with some truly great local cars. You will not be disappointed with this one as it brings out the best the Valley has to offer. I imagine it will be even bigger and better this year considering how fantastic last years was.

This was a fun event last year for a good cause. And it's tax deductible too. Lots of great cars to see in a beautiful venue. Unfortunately I will be unable to attend this year. No Leadfoot, you cannot drive my car. Just be happy they allow you to take your peddle car. :)

My car looked like Fred Flintstones. Leadfoot is probably too young to know what I'm talking about. :) Actually my father hand built a small car for my brother and me back in the early 50's. Long before such things as go-karts were poplar. Midget dirt track racers were the in thing back then. Our "car" had angle iron frame and used half of a 30's Chevy grill for our grill. We had a hand formed steering wheel the actuated the steering gear that turned the front wheels that were on an articulated front axle so the tires were always in contact with the ground. It was powered with a lawn mower engine that sent it's power through a Willy's 3 speed transmission to a pinion gear rear end driving the rear wheels. The rear axle was mounted on 2 small coil springs on each side. We had a clutch but no brakes. :) We would let it coast to a stop on the engine compression unless a quicker stop was required and then we would "jam" it into reverse. Dad was never too happy when we tore up the rear gears. We had that car until I went to college. We used to run it around our small country town's neighborhood dirt streets or or take it to a neighbors horse farm and race it around his dirt track used for horse race training. Had many years of fun with it and certainly was the envy of the other neighborhood kids. Brings back lots of memories. :)

Is this the same time everything cost a nickel and kids had respect? And no brakes??? Couldn't you have just rigged up a hand brake that pushed on the axel? It ain't much but it would have been something. Better than blowing out the reverse gears.
And I do know what pedal cars are. Actually I had a pedal car (Mine looked like the Adam West era Batmobile!) In fact, my next project after I finish the Viper Power wheels is a custom Pedal Car Project.

great story... i started out with a walk behind Gravely tractor and surrie type seat( old irrigation pipe-- stolen wheelbarrow rims and tires) was not fast so i hot rodded it up, carb and exhaust all shade tree built. did all my own work. no brakes but gravely had a hi-lo and forward-reverse so like your car would just feather reverse. the machine is still alive and working well. flinstone cars are real, there are a few at Bedrock; thats at Valle-- half way between Williams and Grand Canyon south.

What a FANTASTIC show/day!!!! Some 400 cars were in attendance to the show, including some of the most coveted machines on the planet. We left our meeting point with 12 Vipers and arrived at the show ground with 16 Vipers! Gotta love making new friends and hopefully new members! Especially a limey brit and his Venom red vert! Please post up your picture and videos even if they're not necessarily of Vipers. And be sure to check out the AZ Viper Club facebook page for more of our exploits!
