Not news that we're on the list. But over 600 units? Really, that many? Thought I read only 200 for 2015?

I'm surprised the GTR out sold viper almost 2 to 1 according to the numbers in the link. Performance wise it's nice car but it's looks doesn't do anything for me.

Not too mention the GTR is (more so now) more expensive than the Viper.

I know this is a Viper forum, but if you're a true car enthusiast you have to appreciate the GTR and what it is capable of, and realize that it really has nothing in common with the Viper other than having four wheels (not a bad thing). The car is a beast and a technological marvel....would love to own one.

I am actually happy we made the list and are that far down on it. I enjoy driving my viper and very rarely seeing another one on the road. GTR, Vettes, Mustangs, Porsche, etc you can see any sunny day in the summer. I have yet to see a Gen 5 other then my own on the road - I know they exist but they are that rare.

I appreciate it's performance but when I see one it just doesn't do anything for me. I would rather see something with the looks of the 370Z and performance of the GTR.

I just took my gen V to get optiglossed and windows tinted. They chauffeured me home in a Tesla. That car was pretty
Peppy! I wonder what will happen with motor vehicles in the next 25 years.

How can you even compare a 2 SEAT Viper to a 4 SEAT Muscle Ricer. GTR is a technological beast of a car, but there is no way you could put one up against a viper on any level.

Was not aware of this vehicle and googled . Found this concerning the car :687 lb-ft of torque and a 0-60 MPH run of 3.2 seconds .
Amazing !

It might not be pretty but you got to give the GTR platform credit. If it was ugly and slow is one thing. But its taken the fight to the UGR G's in the half and full mile runs so it can make powuh with the best of them...I wouldnt pick one over the Viper though but it certainly has merits.

The p285D put down 860+ lbs-ft of Torque on the dyno. It's serious.

No maintenance for 100k miles on a tesla. Imagine saving 7k per year by not buying oil or fuel. That's 70k per decade and 1/4 mill in a lifetime of driving. These times they are a changin' ....

Electric cars are interesting, but the fuel source is almost never factored in ie. Coal Fired Plants ! Not that I'm a tree hugger , just looking at the whole picture.

I've owned four of them. The great things about them is they can serve as daily-drivers similar to a M3 or 911TT. As a dedicated sports car, the Viper is much more exciting, but the GT-Rs are outstanding all-rounders for sure. Very fast as well and people seem to love them. They draw a lot of positive attention.

Amazing ! I live in the same town where Tesla has there plant and I seem to see quite a few running around this area. It's a good looking car and that's 0-60 in 3.2 seconds is no lie. I have even had a few try and mess with me in my GEN V. But only from a stop never from a roll. Pretty impressive out of the hole but kind of weird how quite they are doing it.

Four Godzillas owned....you definitely get it. By the way, I think you win the VOA best cars owned collection award by the looks of your signature. :)

Wicked car for sure, but with the price of fuel today, your spending more dough pluging in than buying gasoline. I've got a PHEV I use for car pool lane access as my daily driver, it's much cheaper to gas it up than to plug it in.

For right now yes, but lets be real these prices aren't the norm for the last 10 years.

Problem is fuel rates change much more frequently than energy ones. Gasoline was over four bucks per gallon for High octane not long ago. I can't remember the last energy rate hike. Then there's the time component. No service for 100k miles is a decade of no dealer or mechanic trips. Time is worth more than money to many. I also hear it takes less time to charge than to fuel. I still like the sound and smell of a big bad engine. But Tesla is interesting at the very least. The one friend I have whom owns one traded in his Gallardo for it.

Went to a decent size car show today and I saw 3 Brand New Z06 Corvettes and I had the only Gen V Viper. Vette is truly a very nice American muscle car but my Laguna interior and paint job blow the Vette away. Its nice to be exclusive!

It's performance is very impressive, but otherwise is not special. It looks like any other Nissan inside, not very special to sit in like a viper or even the vette.

Article doesn't say, but are those international sales or just USA sales? GT-R is sold in several countries.

They sell between 70-105 it seems a month in the US http://www.gtrlife.com/forums/topic/103388-july-2014-gtr-sales-report-gtr-surpasses-8500-sold/
There are some fantastic discounts on the 2015 GT-R at the moment. You can get them at holdback + $10,000 in dealer cash.

I'm glad to see an article like that for public consumption that drives home how NOT exclusive Porsches are... the MB G-Wagon is more exclusive than the 911. I equate 911s with Corvettes, and around NYC I see just as many of them, but somehow the brand maintains an 'air' about it that doesn't seem deserved.

Tesla is the torque King. No tranny worries here. With a motor at each wheel, it will be untouchable from a dead stop.

Sounds like US sales only, based on the last car/slide.
Porsche 918 Spyder (57 units)
Packing a combined 887 horsepower and 944 lb-ft of torque from its mid-mounted V-8 and a pair of electric motors, and capable of a top speed of 211 mph, the 918 is the low-slung, exotic antithesis of the Prius. Limited to a run of 918 units worldwide, it’s a good bet that the 57 copies of the $847,000-plus hypercar sold this year make up the bulk of the U.S. allotment for the car
