It's already on sale...

Joke aside it seems to be a well kept secret so far..... maybe we should ask Hot Wheels?

It's been real quiet on this lately. I haven't heard anything in months.
Here is some old stuff floating around the interweb...

That is a mockup that Road and Track posted in 2012.

Nothing has been officially announced.

According to Chrysler business forcast. Either the Convertable or ACR comes out next year, it doesnt say which

Keep in mind... these are just renderings by someone outside of the design team for srt. In other words, speculatory in nature.
However, I think it gives us a good idea of how nice it will look.
I'm with you, it's gorgeous.

Anxious to see the model; I vote roadster with targa instead of a vert though. Porsche has decided to add a targa to the 991 lineup by spring and the renders on line are just great. I tweeted the CEO that he should push for the same. Time will tell

Same. That could hopefully be a sign that the RT/10 with sportsbar will return, it is only fitting that they do now that Viper is turning 20 years old.

Roadster. Roadster. Roadster. If you want a Targa, buy a Porsch!

It will be a vert.

I hope its more RT/10 than SRT vert...just without the flat asp end.

A "targa" or T top wouldn't be much of a stretch to produce from the coupe architecture.

Either way...it's going to be a sweet grand touring car.

A double-bubble would be nice (behind the seats).

Yep, although that looks pretty dead-on to what Ralph showed us at VOI 12, except the roll bars weren't black, they looked like brushed metal.

Personally I'm a targa vote, but considering that's not what he showed us, it'd be a big departure from that design to a targa, pretty much a whole re-do, so I don't expect it.

Talking with Ralph days ago, he says it's been approved and they're currently working on the design. ETA at this time is just after ACR.

So, we know a new model is coming next year. If that's the vert, then the ACR is sooner??? I hope that's what this means.

Cool info, thnx for posting.

If the ACR is faster than the TA, then Viper is back in this game!!!

In the end, not sure which will hit sooner. The timeline is 18 months - so a lot can change when it comes to reveal. The not-too-recent plan was for ACR to come out sooner, but it might change.

It's also important to note that it getting approved is a good sign, it showed continued investment in the car. Can't wait for a convertible!

I have a GTS and RT/10 and the RT/10 is such a cool, freakin Low-Rider look. But tooling and productions costs might be prohibitive.

LittleCobra
11-23-2013, 03:43 PM
It was not prohibitive on the original RT/10 so I fail to see why it would be prohibitive now, especially if they also build the convertable to spread costs over the 2 cars.

Love it!!! I'm more excited about the ACR, has that specifically been approved as well?

Oh and I'll throw in a vote for a double bubble.
