Find most of them get intimidated and they end up finding the fastest exit. Others ( newbies) hover next to me , punch in the plate looking for dirt ( like im going to be driving a Viper with admin problems, insurance suspensions etc) too fuuny, and end up finding the fastest exit afterwards, that, .. after everyone behind us takes pictures of the cop next to the Viper with the plate. Others just pull up and smile or thumbs up.

Depends on the time of year. Starting in about March, there will be warm-ish dry days. Come June it will stop raining totally for about 3 months (dry summers) and then the rain will gradually return. I usually put it away for the winter when it gets cold in October or November.

It was in the high 60's today and it'll be in the low 70's tomorrow before it goes back to rain again on Tuesday. It rains a lot during the fall/winter/spring but not non-stop. :)

So you didn't get the V-12 option in your Viper I guess. How often do you get asked that?

My old plate was VPRBITE, which is why that is my name on here. I liked it cause I always thought of the ViperBite as when the torque jumped up and bit you in the ass when you weren't expecting it. In Arizona, there were a lot of Viper-related ones available so I better get another Viper so I can get them while the getting is good.

I would love it if we went to an 8 character option. We went to a 7 more recently than you may think. California has been 7 all my life, Arizona was six until the late 90s I think.

Texas does that thing where they allow longer plates once a year for a fee, right? And they auction off some specific plates like "Ferrari" right?

I guess in Saudi Arabia, having a low numbered plate is considered a status symbol so people who happened to have one cause they had cars a long time ago were able to make out pretty good by selling them to the royal family or other wealthy people. I think I read that on Jalopnk, so grain of salt I guess.

Though, "what do you do?" is usually the second thing people say after "Nice Car" so I suppose we all end up fielding that question anyway.

Obviously, I think it's a cool plate so I commend your choice. Especially being that the torque getting up on you and spinning you like a top is often referred to as the Viper Bite. I hope you get your car soon. : )

Do you get 8 characters in NY or is it 7 and a required space? I would love 8 characters as I think it really opens up options even though it's just one more character than most. We get 7 here in Arizona, your choice if and where you want a space or half spaces. But we don't get symbols like california does. They get hearts and stuff like that.

And in AZ, they have prisoners review plate submissions as to whether they are offensive or not. Seriously. I had "D N A R" on my truck but I fibbed on the form as to what it meant. Though I am not sure if I had said what it actually stands for if they would have blocked it. But I didn't want to take a chance.

We get 8 characters all together, so I could have done V10HISSS if I wanted. The only symbol we get is the NYS outline which is considered a character, but they are somewhat limited combos at that point. If someone asks about my V12, I already have the first response ready being that I must have screwed up my custom plates.

Yeah we have to explain. I had HISSOFF, V10HISS, and CPRHD65 on my form. So for explanations I simply put "variations of hiss like a snake" and "CPRHD for copperhead and build number 65"

Ours are all done in person, the lady doing my app snickered a little and didn't think there would be an issue with it.

If you are in tech the the "BYTE" is perfect. As I said, i am not so I went with the "BITE" version.

And yes the wait will be tough. We all have had to go through it though so consider it sort of an initiation. Good luck with the delivery and getting the plate you want. Also, they have a pretty good club there in your area so join officially and they will help you really get the most out of your car. Cruising with one's Viper buddies is one of life's great joys that we are lucky to get to experience.

I really don't like front plates on a Viper, but UK law says we must comply. I know its a big plate so I may experiment with trying a different bracket at some point. The 2 piece rubber holder was bought from Parts Rack, but due to the hood latch the 2 rubbers have to be spaced so that a long plate is needed.

At least the plate is roughly the same length as the width of the stripes

If you're not then let me explain. Oberyn is a character in the show and book. His nickname is the Red Viper.....

Being a huge fan of the show I thought this to be all too fitting.

And as long as we are talking about Game of Thrones inspired plates, my dad has a 2013 Inaugural edition Challenger SRT8 that's white and blue. His plates are WHTWLKR (White Walker). And when he gets his Hellcat which has been on order since forever it seems (Flat black, on Flat Black) his plates will be CSTLBLK (Castle Black). Needless to say we are making this a family affair.
