For some reason my driver door will not unlock from the outside. From the inside its fine, just not from the outside. It was intermittent and now seems to be permanent. I've played with all the settings from the dash an nothing seems to make a difference. Any suggestions? Its a 2014 GTS.

There have been several problems reported on Gen V doors...switches and/modules.
Suggest that you visit your SRT dealer.

Are you saying that with the car unlocked, pushing the outer door handle does nothing? I'm no Gen 5 expert, but I'd guess it was a faulty door switch. I thought I remembered reading about a few similar issues that were resolved by replacing it.

Door popper switch would be my guess as well. If the door is locked it's locked, wouldn't matter if it's inside or outside handle.

Bet he took your call when you were a sales call though huh?
Are 2015 models going to address all of the quality control issues that were associated with many 13 & 14 models? I'd bet at least 10% of cars have had an issue.

Almost has to be door switch, inside release handle uses a cable to override the switch. If the battery was to go dead, you will always be able to open door with inside door handle.

This would only be the case if you were already in the car. Say your walking to your car and had a dead battery... now your climbing in from the trunk as its the only place you can access the car with a key.

I agree QC seems to be a big issue with these cars... From the various rattles to the windows not sealing correctly and now this. Much more all the main bearing getting spun. Someone deserves a kick in the nuts. Its not like they just let anyone build these cars.

The GenV's don't have the same key spot under the upper fender cut out the Gen3/4's had?

Had same issue with passenger door, except it would also open the door on its own too. Dealer replaced the door popper switch, all fine now.
Climbing thru the back hatch is a real pain too. They should have designed a better way.

That's exactly when a few people started having issues was after a car wash.

I had the same problem with the driver side too. Dropped the car off at the dealer and it took them just under 3 months to fix it. I was communicating with the Chrysler resolution department regularly after 1 month. They (dealer) gave me so many different excuses as to why they couldn't fix it. They didn't seem to care at all. One of the worst experiences I've ever had with a new car. I have to say that I absolutely love the car though. JD

Mine started this shit after I washed it too. Makes me wonder if water is getting inside the door...

The manufacturer should be ashamed of itself. My horn would sound in the middle of the night on its own. What a joke. Doors popping open is scary stuff. As is the rear glass shattering from utilizing the rear defroster. If my back view fogs up I put my windows down to use the side views to avoid using the defroster to avoid that whole fiasco. They didn't only owe a 15k voucher; they owed an apology too. Try to get your airbag recall issue addressed. They'll tell you they don't have the part to remedy it. LOL.

Hate to say it and I love the new GEN V but times like these I am happy with the simplicity of my 96 RT/10 as it has no airbags, no windows and no door handles to mess with. No hatch to climb through, no rear defrosters and dash settings? Ha! Ha! But sorry you guys are experiencing that on a new car. Frustrating for sure!

Does it have a horn? Beeeeeep. Imagine sitting behind a state trooper with that crap blaring? Ha.

An apology would be nice in a free bumper to bumper for 100k miles instead or an 8k add on coverage.

What good is a warranty you're too afraid to use because the average dealer blows donkeys?
