View Full Version : Missing Speaker?

I removed the rear fender liners from my 2013 Track Pack car in order to install the rear brake duct elbows.
After the liners were out, I noticed something a bit strange that I cant explain. If you look at the pic labeled drivers side, you'll notice You'll see a grey colored dome that protects a speaker. If you go to the pic labeled passenger side, you will see a block off plate instead of a dome. Obviously there is no speaker there.
Can anyone explain what going on why here is something on one side but not the other?
thanks

Access panels for the vehicle assembly process? That would be my first guess.

The access plate that is shown on the passenger side pic gets removed when a speaker is installed. Im just wondering why there is a speaker on the driver side and none on the passenger side

Your car only has the "9" speaker system which means only one of the four Sub's get installed by the factory.
you can buy an upgrade kit to add the additional missing speakers for around $500

Wouldn't be unusual to have only one subwoofer. There isn't much directionality at very low frequencies that would call for needing L & R channels. Audio purists might debate that though.
