Interesting read.

"Kuniskis would not elaborate on what Dodge has planned for the hand-built supercar, but the price cut and a cameo in a recent "Dodge Brothers" commercial has increased interest in the car. Kuniskis plans to capitalize on that boost."

Article on the GenV this morning in the Detroit News..... Kuniskis and Liang

http://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/autos/chrysler/2014/12/04/dodge-hellcat-centennial-year/19925007/

Tim Kuniskis:
Dodge CEO and President Tim Kuniskis said the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV brand will now turn its attention to its iconic Viper, which recently had a spike in sales following a $15,000 price cut. Prices now start at about $85,000.

"We're going to tell a story here shortly that I think has needed to be told for a long time about how this is the only handmade supercar in the industry," he told The Detroit News on the sidelines of the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Maurice Liang - Detroit News:
Viper Owners Association President Maurice Liang said it's the exclusiveness and "courageousness" of the car since its introduction more than 20 years ago that make the Viper special.

"I think it's that combination of the looks, the power and the uniquely American character of it," said Liang, a California resident and owner of three Vipers. "It just stops you dead in your tracks. It's both sexy and mean all at the same time."

"Which club?" What are you talking about? There is only 1 Viper Club. :)

This is a testament to the VOA and Viper owners that the brand is not dying. To engage our President to promote the next evolution in the car says a lot about us and the Brand

Very nice to read this, thanks. It was so refreshing to see the cameo in that commercial, we were all hoping it was a good omen, and here we go.

I actually said "outrageousness" not "courageousness", but it was courageous, too. ;-)

Just read the link through Jalopnik. That is awesome news that they want to keep a flag ship vehicle. Can't wait to see what is coming up the pipe for it.

This is significant. Tim is not a man of many words, so when he says something like this it carries a lot of weight and there is a funded plan behind it.

This is fantastic. I see a Gen V ACR in my future :United_States:

Yep and so did many of the SRT engineers at NVE1. They asked us many questions and for our opinions on the Viper. I hope it's all for a good reason. ;)

I'm the one that should wait, with the ACR possibly in the cards.

However, two words for you: Stryker Orange. Once you go Stryker, there is no parting with it, trust me

Dodge needs a dedicated commercial for the Viper, like this one:

Agreed. Dodge had some badass ads in the past:

http://files2.coloribus.com/files/adsarchive/part_642/6422205/file/dodge-viper-snake-horse-small-68879.jpg

http://files2.coloribus.com/files/adsarchive/part_1261/12616905/file/dodge-viper-viper-engine-block-small-25911.jpg

The new "Dodge Brothers" commercial was good except that they didn't mention the Viper by name, so we know they can do it. I can't wait to see what happens. I'd love to see the Viper come roaring back with a big upgrade and a badass ACR.

have the Dodge borthers commercial have a part II of the chase and see them enter a track and the Hellcats get blown away as the Viper morfs into an ACR.

Viper did split the Hellcats going head-on through them to show them who was the once and still king. Of course Dodge can sell a billion Hellcats so they need to retain some thunder.

The Viper/Ferrari ad above could not be more appropriate! I think Fiat/Ferrari has been scared of the Viper from day 1, even though the buyers are in different segment (a Ferrari 458 buyer might [I]also[I] buy a Viper, but is unlikely to buy a Viper [I]instead[I] of a 458. I would also make the snake in the ad much BIGGER and more menacing.

Bruce,

Thanks for commenting on Tim and how he really was listening alot at the Viper Homecoming. Many commented on how he seemed more reserved than others in the past, but he did not know any of us, and I mentioned that after chatting with him it was quite noticeable that he was more of a sponge than a talkative guy. Everyone in his position will likely have their own style and we have had plenty of great CEOs at Dodge, but they are not cookie cutter like alot of other Corporations. Nice to have folks see that Tim is a bit different than what we are all used too, but that he is obviously just as passionate as many others that have lead Dodge and SRT. I think alot are realizing he is a definite car guy, and he wants success for the Snake as much as anyone.
