Hi Everyone,
As you all know my Viper has had some interesting "features" that it came with from the factory, some of which I didn't pay for nor wanted, like this incredible whistling feature my driver side window had. So being the over dramatic whiney bitch that I am I threw a big enough shit-fit to get all the attention I possibly could from Chrysler thinking this was going to help solve the problem if the engineers put their heads together. Well their suggestions were useless, left the tech and I scratching our heads so were started taking things apart, first the door panel to ensure the window was as high as it could should be, then replaced the upper window seal (this made the whistling less) so we thought what else could it be. we took the seal off and looked under it for the weather strip. Boom, Bang, Skippity-do-daw, we found it, the weather strip was all kinds of scrunched up and missing chunks? How this happened? No idea but it whistled since day one, so we went with the notion it was a Monday morning build.

Long story short, if your window whistles, stop adjusting the glass, take off the window seal, order a new one, take out the weather strip, replace it. Boom! Encooooouragement! Theeeeeeen doooo it! Lol! No more whistling.

Edit: will post pics later.

The metal trim that attaches to the roof panel has a foam backing that seals to the roof. That foam backing on the updated part is 2X as thick and solves the whistle. We have fixed a couple before the part was updated and now it is a much easier fix. This is the part you want to order,

Was this only a 2013 problem? Was it updated by 14?

Most people with the concern have been 13's, I do not know exact dates that the updated part was released. The noise is not an issue with every car though, it could very well be that the A pillar/Roof joints just varied enough that some sealed better than others is all.

We fixed the first one also by taking it apart and redoing the foam, after that calling the right people to get the new part numbers was required because the parts systems drawings do not actually show the part you needed.

Well Mark, your Woodhouse fix is still working. (think I was the first) When I come up for the Stage II heads and new tune, you can do the passenger side window as a precautionary measure. But seriously, no whistle from either window. Thanks again, made the drive back to Abilene MUCH better than the drive up.

We did both sides just to be sure you didn't have a problem Paul. ;-)

How frustrating and embarrassing. Only thing worse is taking it to the average dodge dealer for the fix. Mark is the exception, but 1400 miles from me.

Now that there is an official fix for it from Dodge, I would think your local (or closest) Viper Tech could do it.

Time to move from that tax cesspool north!

I think I might have this issue also, my window is commonly down a slight bit, guess I'll try to get this resolved at the same time as the door node modules reprogramming "notification" and the seat sensor recall.

But just to clarify, I can put my window up a bit and it fully closes. Just later times, I'll find my window not to be all the way up. Seems more of a smart glass not going all the way up issue (i.e., opposite of the door node modules reprogramming issue, which is about windows that go too high) though for me. Wonder if my fix is the one here or with the programming.
