I have to related thoughts this morning...
My 2006 Slate Gray Coupe with no stripes is a 1 of 7 car (144 Slate Gray, of them 31 coupes, of them 7 with no stripes). Being originally a 1 of 7 car, I thought to myself, "I can never re-paint this. Its too rare!". But after being an owner for a couple of years, it seems like almost every viper that ISN'T a special edition is almost a 1 of 1 (funny how like the 2006 'special edition' blue/whites are less rare than simply ANY slate gray viper, Vert included!) So, how rare, in the Viper world, is a 1 of 7 car? Weren't like 140 of the 2010 Vipers a true 1 of 1 or something like that? Is it worth preserving the 'value' of the Slate Gray or should I not feel guilty if I were to ever repaint it? To be clear, I'm not going to do this soon, if ever, but it's something I think about often. And its not the resale value I am concerned about, the car already has over 50K miles, It is the loss of viper heritage I guess. There aren't many Slate Gray coupes... Is mine worth perserving, if only from a 'historical' sense?
Where are all of my 2006 Slate Gray Coupe with no stripes friends? On top of this I know I've seen used parts off an 06 Slate Coupe/no stripes, so I'm assuming one is totalled. Leaving 6. I have one.. Where are the other <5?
