Hello gents,
Just wanted to introduce myself. Bought my 2014 GTS Carbon back in July and couldn't be more pleased with her. Seems like a great forum here. I've been reading all the threads and must say the fact we can now tune these cars is just flat out exciting. No mods of yet but I did just have the cquarts finest applied with level 2 paint restoration done by the guys at Vive. Came from the stealership with all kinds of swirl marks and such but Anson at Vive spent two weeks polishing them out and with the ceramic coating it looks perfect with exceptional results. I'll post before and after pics so you guys can see it for yourself. If you didn't already know we have very soft paint and being a black car it was real bad when I brought it to them. Next up she goes in for the airbag recall and to fix the locking mechanism on the driver door. Won't unlock for some reason... I'm seriously thinking of building a cam for her with something like a 226/232 on a 114. Any opinions? Exhaust mods I'm not sure about either but the gains in stock form have not been impressive. If it's a must with the cam I was thinking about ARH headers to high flow cats and corsa or stock. This is all speculative rt now just curious to what you guys think. KP racing is going to do the work. Anyhow glad to be part of the crowd.

Welcome.. I no way to well about the very soft black paint. I had the same coating put on mine after a long paint correction and had the car rapped. I would tell any viper owner to have the rap installed on the black paint for sure. Enjoy and welcome to the club.

Unfortunately, grinding a cam for a Viper isn't that simple...that sounds like something you'd toss in an LSx, and this ain't no LSx. If you are serious about it, you have to decide whether or not you want to keep the variable valve timing...there are folks out there thinking about coming up with different VVT grinds, but so far no one has come back with any results. Since HPTuners is an option, you could potentially go with a solid grind, but you'll likely end up losing the great low RPM driveability and relatively low emissions which is the reason there's a VVT cam in there in the first place.

I'd personally wait and see if someone can come up with a more aggressive VVT cam before going down this road...plenty of other things to do that will get you well into the low 600s at the wheels without too much effort.

Are you in Houston?

Judging by the Anson/Vive comments, I'd venture to say thats a resounding yes.

I think I saw him cruise by Pub Fiction in Midtown one night actually--can't be too many Carbon editions around.

Was my thought as well when he mentioned vive. Well great glad we have a carbon car in town now.

I figured as much to but the folks over at KP seems to think its not a big deal. They quoted me a price on a comp cam and new valve train too. I asked all the usual questions pertaining to the VVT and they didn't see it being an issue. I mean headers , cam tune , valve train with labor just shy of 8K.

When I choose my Screen Name I didn't know there was a special edition Carbon color. I was referring to the Carbon Fiber Package.

HAHA well that makes more sense now. I was about to call Anson at Vive and ask him what he thought about detailing the matte carbon edition paint.

Car looks great looking forward to seeing it soon.

Now that the baby is here I can start getting some things planned again. We need to run through the forest again.
