I have done a few mods to the ACR and it seems to have negatively effected a few things. It is a long story but I will try and do the readers digest version... Bought a '09 ACR with Hennessey 650R package on it, it had 500 miles on teh clock and to drove like glass, no vibration, exhaust was loud but nowhere near what my Gen2 was...
SO I get a lead on some actual ACRX items, the trans cooler and the diff cooler. I jump on them both and have them installed along with Woodhouse engine and trans mounts and a MGW shifter. Vibration was horrible and the stem of the shifter was heating up bad, so was the tunnel in the car. You could feel the heat with your leg. Swapped the Woodhouse mounts back out for OEM and vibration and heat still there, took it back again they said they shifted it a bit and vibrations were reduced 90% and heat was all but gone. Didn't worry about it again.
Today I picked the car up from getting a BBG GenV clutch & HRB installed and from the advise of many I left the OEM engine mounts in but installed the Woodhouse trans mount only. Vibration is damn near unbearable in all gears from 1800-2200 RPM, 5th gear is very noisy, 6th is only slightly less noisy, and the heat in the tunnel is back bigger than ever. After a 1 hour drive home on the highway, no high speed or chance to try out the new clutch, right under the ball of the shifter I measured 106*, tunnel by your knee measured 117*, tunnel by my hip 118* and inside the center console by the lighter it was 115*.
Could I have a bad mount Woodhouse trans mount causing all this vibration? This heat was not normal before, are you guys seeing anywhere near these temps INSIDE your car? I stopped for fuel on the way home and my trans/diff cooler fan kicked on, these shouldn't kick on unless I'm at the track or in extreme heat. Its 80* outside here in Texas, dang near winter weather.
Is there a insulation blanket that may have not been re installed on the trans? If the trans mount is bad or misaligned would it generate the vibration and excessive heat? I'm lost here folks. Any advise?
