I've been practicing my launches and shifts and have been getting my times down in the GT-R, but I had the perfect amount of rear slip and nailed this one tonight. I pulled a 1.23G doing this! The best I ever did in any other car was my Viper in 3.8 sec. This was measured using a G-Tech which uses 13 satellites, not 3 or 4 like a phone, so it's very accurate. I've tested it to be within a couple hundredths of the drag strip timer and within under 1mph.

Note: The downhill grade is only an estimate and is obviously false since this was done on a flat road next to an airport with no hills in site, and sometimes it says I'm going uphill on that same run.

That is insanely fast. Did you get an 1/8 or 1/4 mile time too?

I could show a video but it's 2.37 sec long! :D

I did! Best 60' I got was a 1.58. The strip near me is never prepped well for test nights.

On the strip I did. 10.47@132mph

Damn...all-wheel drive must be nice. Great times both at the strip and off.

More impressed with the actual timeslip, not so much with G-Tech racing.

Gen 5 Viper has all that sort of electronic racing stuff in the dash now. I tested out the accuracy of the performance loggers while doing some drag strip passes, and it wasn't even close. LOL. It said my ET was worse, and that my MPH was slower. I must have out-driven the computer :)

Yeah, I found the built in stuff on the GEN-V to be way off because it uses the wheel sensors and the accelerometer to calculate everything. The G-Tech is actually very accurate though. It uses the 10hz sat signals unlike the 1 hz signals that cellphones use. G-tech claims this model is accurate to 0.2mph and 0.01 sec and my visit to the strip confirmed this. My G-Tech numbers were within a couple hundredths of the slip and the MPH was nearly spot on. Z-axis is rarely accurate with dedicated velocity meters though.

How does the Gen V retrieve the Data...vehicle electronic based on tire movement/distance/time or off of GPS satellites, if satellites how many. Thanks in advance.

What tires are you running? And what about your tranny?

R888 tires, stock tranny. The trans on the 2012+ GT-R's are bulletproof up to 630lbs-ft to the wheels which is the bleeding edge of stock turbos. I've got over 500 launches under my belt.

Man, I can remember when I was so happy to be a member of the "4 second club", nothing better, now I have to worry about getting to the "2 second club", sheesh :D

Doesn't the GT-R need to shift also into 2nd gear to get to 60?

What?? You mean my 0-60 time in my Challenger is NOT accurate? Who would of thought.

A GTR under 3 seconds is nothing unusual. Those cars haul the mail. Well done.

So how is the G tech nearly dead nuts in all aspects, but so far off in terms of grade? Not denying your incredible times, but bad info is bad info. 1/4 mile times are very impressive.
