Is there a way to check by VIN to determine if a particular car was effected? Or will they mail something out?

I thought the issue was they didn't deploy enough ( not that they deployed excessively) due to the seat positioning in that the sensor thinks the seat is further back than it is?

I'm just about to take her in for the 5k oil change; wonder if I can stretch it until then and get it all done at the same time... :confused:

Nobody uses the Dodge Owners website? The campaign for the reprogramming of the door node modules came out on 10/3. I received the notification in the mail about two weeks later. The airbag recall was posted on 10/28:

I just had my car at the dealer today to get some updates done, check on my horn issue (same issue others are having with the horn) and I asked them about the recall. The Viper tech said they didn't have what they needed for the airbag recall yet but hopefully will know more when I bring it back in a couple of weeks (they had to order parts for the horn issue).

For those of you that are looking for airbag recall details, it's attached via PDF. My dealer made contact with Dodge and is awaiting the shims for this recall. No ETA as to when the shims will arrive but the attached recall notice explains the procedure.

The problem is...
Some Dodge Viper vehicles may experience an incorrect airbag deployment
velocity due to inaccurate seat track position sensor gap. Incorrect airbag
deployment velocity may increase the chance of occupant injury during certain
crash conditions.


What your dealer will do...
Chrysler will repair your vehicle free of charge (parts and labor). However, the
part required to provide a permanent remedy for this condition is currently not
available. Chrysler is making every effort to provide the part as quickly as possible.
Chrysler will contact you again by mail, with a follow-up recall notice, when the
remedy part is available

According to my dealer the parts for the airbag recall aren't available yet. I just had it in to fix the horn issue about a week ago. The horn actually works now, and so far it hasn't gone of randomly.
