Hey guys,
I need to add a pair of HFC's to my 06 Viper. Right now the ones I am looking at are the Random Technology HFC's from Viper Parts Rack ($599 per pair):

Would these be a better option or easier to install ?($299 per pair):

Right now my car has cat deletes and a corsa cat back. I'd like something that just simply bolts up. Any advice would be really appreciated. I'm adding these and a custom tune to decrease the EXTREME smell of exhaust fumes.

Alright, no bites I guess. My local shop is recommending Magnaflow HFC's. Anyone here run these? They want quite a bit if labour hours to put these in so I want to make sure they are decent.

Had horrible experience with Random Tech, would never buy from again.

Good to know. Someone told me these magnaflow HFC's are the same ones that Bellanger uses... ??

I know Belanger uses Magnaflow mufflers, but not sure what brand the cats are. Have you checked the exhaust to make sure there are no leaks possibly causing your extreme gas smell?

Its possible, I'm not exactly sure how to tackle the exhaust fume issue. From my understanding it is from running no cats, but I wouldnt doubt there is some kind of exhaust leak.

I ran Random-tech HFC on my gen 3 coupe with no issues. I didn't smell anything ever either.

My previous car was so bad that my eyes would burn and I'd have headaches. The car had cat deletes...but it wasn't the cat deletes. When I replaced the exhaust with a catless Belanger, the gas smell was nearly gone. My OEM muffler end caps had cracked all the way around and the actual muffler material was coming out of the muffler.

Good point, I have wondered if my existing exhaust might have some bad welds or holes in the mufflers also. I guess time will tell. I have looked around a bit, but I was wondering if anywhere sells a catback complete with HFC's or is that something that is typically peiced together? I might just go ahead and put a whole new exhaust on it from the headers back.
Also, straight up is this a job that I could do or is it best to have a shop do it? The only shop in town that I trust to do the work wants to charge about $1000 labour just to add in the Magnaflow HFC's (Which they had priced at $100 each). I don't want this to get too expensive, but I literally cannot drive the car the way it smells right now.

I have Belanger headers, OEM cats, and a Corsa exhaust for sale. Headers aren't too difficult to do (did the full install on my last Viper). Cats and exhaust are very easy...hardest part is getting to the 1 nut that holds the side skirts to the fender.

Hey guys, I ended up adding a set of Random Tech High High FLow Cats. I got these from Jon at Viper Parts Rack. I went with his Super High Flow option. They came well packaged, and they look like a high quality product. Fitment so far has been great and it has completely eliminated the nasty catless smell.
