Well I hope it does not end up in the UK with some dealer trying to sell it as a perfect car and not declaring any damage?

Looks like a tree fell on it. Not too much damage. Looks like basically the roof and associated parts.

Its NOT the first.....and the few that have come across all seem to be 'rebuilders' vs parts-cars,

It'll buff out.
Might take a little more than a porter cable and some Meguires.
Definitely not the first. They pop here and there. There was repaired salvage on eBay for $72k.

Would be nice to keep a record somewhere of the Vins on these cars (as a Club) so any unsuspecting future owner would know the History. We all know Carfax is not foolproof ;)
I have nothing against a salvage car, but if I was to buy one I would want to see a full pictorial breakdown of the rebuild and parts used.

Why dont they just sell it for 40, then we send it to prefix and make it a convertible.

There's been a black one on ebay for quite a while with front end damage

Is the plastic on the steering wheel and shift knob from the factory, pre-delivery? The car is used with 731 miles. Seems odd.

Looks like a future convertible to me!!!
And there was a black one from the same seller on Ebay a bit ago. I've met this gentleman, and he deals in salvaged vehicles, but has a special yard dedicated to Vipers....it's kinda sad to walk around there but impressive none the less. Nice guy and seemed very honest about his vehicles.
I've seen other salvaged Gen V, wasn't there one that was brutalized at a drag strip?

As cheap as they are a person can buy one with zero history and zero work to perform for $10,000 more then what they are asking. Doesn't seem worth it to buy a fixer upper...

Well, then, I'd suggest posting the VIN here and the photos and a general description if the VOA is not against that sort of thing. Perhaps setting up a special forum would be in order? It sure is nice as a buyer to be able to search a VIN and find that kind of posted info. The guys on the Elise forum have done some of that (not in a special forum, though.)
