I've heard there were only a few options (black and grey) for 2015. Has anyone heard of this, too?

That would be amazing
Yes, ordering is open, but with no pricing info, yes the black & silver are the only colors the dealer showed me on the screen that would come up. No TA, no GTS were showing as options, just SRT and GT. I was checking on a Silver GT option and it was there to order, but they couldn't give me pricing so ........

Pricing has rarely ever been available on the model year change Vipers since clear back in the 90s, but one should be able to get close based on last year and the new pricing that has been listed ( add shipping and gas guzzler). Not sure where this silly notion about only two colors came from -- be happy to order one of the 9 colors listed depending on model. It has been announced for quite awhile that the GTS and the TA will not be orderable initially ( likely next year) , so Dealers should all know this. Not sure what was happening, but momentary glitch as we did call on some other concerns , but none affected the colors. Dodge is looking into alot of new possibilities and imagine the comment was based on the rumor that has been floating since last year , that since they could do high end paint schemes ( Stryker Red, Stryker Green , Anodized Carbon ) ,why not do custom colors for a price?
We have some 15s ordered , and would be happy to order anyone a Snake -- doesn't have to be Silver or Black ( though Billet Silver is super hot)

It would be cool if they would allow any custom color to be painted. Back in the '60s, GM allowed that on the Camaro. Any color within their catalog of all GM colors. I had a car like that before, it had two hyphens on the cowl tag in the paint code portion.
The limitation I saw was at the dealership about a week ago, choosing a GT only gave silver or black as options. We were both looking at the screen together going thru options, but maybe that was just a glitch at that time. They had only done 2 orders at that point they said and both happened to be black.
Only t hing with pricing is they and a couple others are saying they'll do orders for invoice. Just not sure where that is, they say when it's available they'll show it, it's more about keeping the dealer honest on the deal, lol. When you live within 30 miles of DC, honesty requires proof. LoL again.
Seems a shame not to leverage the control and flexibility that low-volume, right-next-door-at-Prefix manufacturing should provide.
Custom colors at, say, $7k would be a money-maker...

Yah, love the idea but....................... some colors should never be on a vehicle of any manufacturer! One look at some of the classless Bentleys, Lamborghinis. etc. out there tells you their needs to be some constraint. Not much but some!

I'd buy one already built. Ordering from this manufacturer is ridiculous.

With that said, I wonder if they would let you order a TA in anything other than the three colors they've announced. Something awesome like Hot Metallic Pink with Black Stripes and Black Sidewinder 2 Wheels, I'd be down, I'd even write Barbie or Power Wheels on the sides LOL

Color combo maybe, lol, but not a TA model til later, TA isn't available to order now.
The ordering history is another thing keeping me shy of it too, once bitten twice shy.

Carbon with stryker red stripes and a demonic red interior. That would be perfection.
When I ordered a Ferrari in 2004, F would paint your car (extra cost of course) and color skins, any colors one wanted...a paint chip was required for unusual color/tone. During a factory visit to Maranello mine was in assembly process), I saw an orange F360 with lime mirrors, lime interior with orange stitching, for a customer in Tokyo. It certainly was an eye opener, an expensive one I'm sure.

Audi lets you paint their S brand cars in any color in the Audi family of cars (and I believe historical no longer produced colors) for $3000.

It really is a no brainer option with the prefix relationship to make it happen
Dodge has the ability to make the Viper a true bespoke car if they want and I think it would really help sales. But what do I know.
