The SRT Jeeps are AWESOME! A buddy of mine had one but didn't keep it for long. Nothing to do with the Jeep itself. He got a screaming deal on a '10 Viper that he couldn't pass up. Enjoy it!

Thanks Bob. The only problem is that I like our "family car" to be worry free. This is too much like the Viper. I walk around a mall worried that someone will open a door into it! LOL

We'll see how it does in snow up in Vermont in January! There had better still be a Jeep in there.

As long as you got the all season tires it should be o.k. My buddy didn't and he almost learned the hard way

Those things are filthy. Got to ride in one of SRTs with SRT Jeep father Marco Diniz driving on Chelsea. Holy crap. Beyond fun. And he was cleaning the clock of all the Vipers on the autocross. Enjoy. Happy for you!! :)

Awesome Vehicle!

My buddy John has one... His is also supercharged :p
That thing is an E ticket ride... Step on the gas and it feels like you are being shot out of a cannon...

it still would have all the Jeep capabilities too, if he had kept the right tires on it...

He keeps sticky tires on it now. When he first bought it there were off road tread... he said it did great in rain, mud and snow...
Since we rarely see that here in SoCal he went to better traction. It's his daily driver.

I stuck with the all season tires.

The factory option seat color is called "sepia". It's sort of a bright Viper cognac. It looks surprisingly good against the white Mr. Plum. But that's just MO. My wife's too ;).

Good way to replace the Infinity Scott :)

Heh heh ... WILLEM!!!

Figured it wouldn't be long before you got over here.

Yes, it's quite a step up from an excellent driving but composed car to an animal. Of course, it's a bit more costly too. Kinda neat to own 2 SRT's.

Hey Scott

Still trying to get used to mine. That 8 speed can really jerk you around. Been playing with the track mode and paddles, real fun stuff

Sweet!

I've played in the sport setting, but not with the track setting. I guess I've got to get busy. I DOES take some time to get used to.

Also need to figure out the available ski rack possibilities.

Was fuel economy improved with the new tranny and features?

SRT-Jeeps rock!

BTW: all season tires are crap compared to real winter tires.

I have no perspective since this is my first. I think the 8 speed tranny helps, but I'd have to check the reviews. There is a ECON button on the dash which shuts down 4 cylinders. I've tried that on a 70 mile drive and you can feel it's operation. I've only got 2K miles, but the first k was not good (maybe 12-14 mpg). Markedly improved now as I'm getting over 15. But like the Viper, it depends heavily on your right foot.

I don't think so. Its rated at 13/19. You can program your dash, you don't want the instant MPG feature showing as that can really depress you.

I was really hoping Dodge would dump that motor in the Durango. We set out to get the SRT GC and when my wife found out it couldn't be equipped with a third row seat, she set her sites on the Durango. We ended up with the R/T which is in now way comparable to the GC, but up until I get them all out of diapers, it will have to do.

I'm just hoping that the Dutch flag emoticon will finally have the colors waving correctly instead of upside down.

I currently own a 2010 Mod Blue SRT8 and had also purchased a new silver 2007. They have both been a blast to own. The look on peoples faces(Camaros, Mustang GT's, Corvettes, etc) in the rear view mirror as I leave them in my dust is classic.

MPG for these things depends really on your highway/city ratio.

I am right at 10-12 city and 20-22 highway after 7500mi. The more highway driving you do, the higher the avg.

My tank averages are typically 15-16.5

Love the side SRT badges replacing "grand cherokee" . I did the same thing and it really cleans up the side profile and accentuates SRT instead of jeep.

Note that you mentioned the mileage with regard to MPG. My first tank went scary fast. Might have gotten 8 MPG with under 2,500 RPM in city driving. Now even at 2,200 miles, the MPG is MUCh better, more in the neighborhood of 15-17 with mixed city and highway driving.

Thanks for SRT badging compliment. I stressed about that for weeks before I pulled the trigger.

Beautiful daily, i like the saddle brown interior (overland summit style). I think they were black only on the previous SRTs, no?

Correct. Had to wait 3 months for that option to become available. Deal er (Roanoke) placed my order the day it was listed.
