Sycamore Speedway Night - Sept 27th!
If you've never done a Sycamore Speedway night with the club, you need to try it! It's basically a wild evening at the races on a clay track. On a single evening you'll witness a multitude of short races, of all different types. You'll see figure 8 races, stock car racing, drag racing, and yes… demolition derby! This isn't simple racing, these cars do a bit more than "touch". And since this is the last event of their season, everything must go… They let it all hang out. Last year was amazing as cars were smashed to bits, flipped over, and caught fire (and that wasn't even the demolition derby!).
This is a great time and an informal event, dress casual. Our whole group enters easily as parking for our vipers is arranged and we're all together. We all sit together and have a ball, with hot chocolate in hand we overlook the track and relish in the excitement. The Vipers also do a few parade laps during the national anthem (completely optional as your car will get dirty - but it's a ball and a great photo opportunity in and out of the car!). There's lots to this night and it's now become a staple event for the club.
We'll also meet at Portillo's on Randall Rd for dinner, we'll then caravan to the track. The evening typically ends between 10-11pm. It's an inexpensive event and great for the whole family (especially kids!).
