Everyone realized how brilliant it was at the beginning. Viper re-launch was confirmed, people were going nuts. Hubs was like "all they talk about on Corvette Forum anymore is the Viper," new top post on r/Autos or r/Cars almost every day about it. Then the MT review blew everything. See, unlike the Corvette, the haters don't be hatin' in the Viper-I have never gotten a single snide remark, sneer, or anything but praise for the car. People LOVE it.

When the MT thing hit, Viper should have taken an action like this $15,000 discount immediately and gotten its mojo back. People love the car. Ever heard someone with seat time in a Gen V hate on it? No? Me neither. It just took some pizzazz to get it going again. This is awesome, until we get some stats on the GT350 this looks like a clear win for the best bargain in cars right now. I mean, it isn't quite as good as a 911 Turbo in some departments, but in others, it's so SO much better. The situation with the current Gen V marketplace is like if Ferrari suddenly announced that the California and the Carrera were going to cost the same amount. Yeah, the Carrera is numerically better, but people would be going nuts.

Sell em all boys. Then let's have another ACR that'll top 'Ring records for 6 years.

I just don't get people who don't get the Viper over a Corvette especially now. If you park a Viper next to a C7 to me there is no comparison. The press can nit pick all they want but the Viper is a hand crafted exotic and the Corvette is a sports car. The difference in the paint alone seals the deal. The corvette is not a car that engages you behind the wheel like a Viper. Hopefully just enough Corvette guys either switch camps or buy both to help keep the Viper viable.

Lets keep the momentum going Viper! I talked with a few dealers who have sold a few cars each this week already. Anxious to see September sales #s when the month is through...

Jack, GM put a a Stop-Sale on the Corvette today. As of this moment no dealer can sell them , until they address two major, at present undisclosed concerns according to GM.

To further the world is off it's axis, the CEO of Ferrari resigned yesterday saying, "Fiat has become an American company". Ha! Ha! Guess that is one way to remove the HP restrictions on the Viper.

Sergio wanted him gone, and wanted control of Ferrari. We will see if its good news or bad. Just means they can push more Fiat junk.

Couldn't agree more. Have to praise the paint on the Viper it is amazing. I have a friend who owns a body shop and over the years he has fixed some vipers, for years he has said the quality of the paint job, the amount of layers and the hand buffing is unrivaled! He actually doesn't like to fix them because it's so much work to match the quality of the factory paint job.

Don't think there is a better time to get into a great new Gen V Viper!

Couldn't agree more... With this price drop there will probably need to be some production cost reductions. The cars available now were built on a higher price financial model and are selling at and even below the new lower model. Hopefully the quality will remain top notch but it certainly won't be easy to do on the new tighter margins.

What's worse than getting low balled on your viper trade? A dealer saying he won't even take it. Wow! Test drove the Huracan yesterday and Lamborghini said they'd take my Maserati and play with numbers but do not want the gen V. Guess they took one previously and couldn't sell it so they had to wholesale it and don't want to go through that again. Lol. And I hope Sergio doesn't ruin Ferrari Porsche style with mass production and brand dilution Porsche style. But I fear he will. Already read that he wants to pump out 10k annual prancing horses. Ugh.

10k annually? Here comes the Ferrari SUV everyone had been hampering for and another low priced Dino. I welcome the SUV if I had the money. Love our daily Cayenne Turbos and with buying them used, no major depreciation hit and the fact we now have 70k and 110k miles on them, they are strong as an ox and set to really rack up the miles. Sometimes the changes can be good, sometimes, like the Dino, they are not.

You've got to believe many corvette guys will step up to a Gen 5 now.. I had 4 vettes before my first 5 Viper 10 years ago. On my 5th Snake now and not looking back.

With China, Russia and other markets opening up to exotics this will not dilute the brand at all. Sergio can squeeze another $1B from Ferrari increasing production to 10k units.

Very similar story here. I had 3 Corvettes and then switched to Vipers. My first was a 2000 steel gray and now I am on my 5th Viper with a 2014.
