View Full Version : Viper Voucher Good for all New 2013s and 2014s, not just 2015s

Attention, Achtung, Attencione....................

The Voucher reads good only for a new 2015 Viper, but do not fear ( settle your nerves by reading the back of said coupon), it is good for new , in stock 2013s and 2014s. So kids , keep those cards and letters coming and we will be happy to trade or sell you a wunnerfull new Snake.

Big Note..............Second wave of Vouchers will be coming with a correction , so check your mailbox again. Dodge is sending you a correction letter easing your fears and making sure you know you can use the voucher to ( for example) trade in your 2013 for a 2014. Of course it will still be good till 2018 as originally posted.

Sincerely,
Willie Da P

What % of 13 owners are realistically going to trade in for a 14? 0-10%?

Umm I was going to move from a 13 to a 15 had I got a voucher.

Would make more sense than moving to a 14. But with changes coming for the 16 model you too will be in the minority trading up for a 15 I suspect.

Now if Dodge offered vouchers to previous Gen owners as a loyalty program they would have 0 worries about Vipers staying on the lots. None, zip, nada.

Just an old joke, but heh the excitement is way, way up with the price reduction and the vouchers, ha!

Excitement is way up because they are dumping cars that would not otherwise sell? My local, small Jeep dealer has 5 Hellcat orders and a Viper he can't move which is the difference between creating excitement (like Viper once did) and admitting failure. Like our country, Dodge needs to insert some adult supervision into viper assuming it lives. The parent showed what it could do with Jeep so someone must be paying attention.

You would think that Chrysler would have considered it...even Corvette owners get a bump when getting a new Vette. Even if it was only for the remaining 2013 and 2014s I'd guess that a loyalty discount would have moved quite a few units. Hopefully they do so after the Gen V owners get their coupons through the system.

Good psychological move and a lot less expensive than issuing a $15,000 check.

This would impact a lot of voucher holder's buying decisions. Many are planning on using it for a 2016. Someone better get to the bottom of this fast.

I thought the thing was valid until 2018. In theory, wouldn't that mean you could use that loyalty card to move on up to an '18?

Pretty sure you can use the voucher for any brand new Viper, all the way to the expiration date in 2018. The confusion here is that the pricing on the 13, 14, 15 are all dropped. Those aren't the limit of the voucher.

It would be pretty cool if Dodge offered any brand-new Viper buyers in the last 10 yrs a smaller incentive. Maybe $10K off and a shorter exp date. Could even make that smaller deal a permanent offer for any new Viper purchase, going forward. Sort of an incentive to keep buying the future ones. Used car buyers wouldn't benefit.

I think you have to read the fine print. I could be wrong. Expires in 2018 but to be used on 2013-2015 models. Meaning you can use it on a 2015 come 2016 etc etc.... Bill can chime in with exact details.

The letter says "as an early purchaser of the 5th Generation Viper - we especially want you to benefit from Vipers New positioning. Enclosed you will find a $15,000.00 certificate designated for you or a family member of your household to redeem toward the purchase of a new 2015 Viper. This $15,000.00 certificate is in addition to the $15,000.00 price reduction. This offer is valid on every exciting Viper model and special edition through January 2nd, 2018"

So if a base SRT is 85 grand now with the certificate you could get one for 70K? If I had one of these certificates I think I would have to do it. Too bad I have an 06. So technically if you had a good friend with a Gen V that has one of these certificates, he could buy one then sell it someone correct? Not that I have any friend that has a gen V but just sayin. Would be a sweet deal if you had a connection.

FWIW, the SRT Coupon Customer Service person told me today on the telephone that the Vouchers could ONLY be used to purchase a new 2013, 2014 or 2015. I requested that she have a supervisor contact me since revised certificates were supposed to be on the way. For those of us who purchased Gen Vs, especially 2014s in the last month or so (late July for me), limiting the coupon to these years makes it next to worthless. It should really apply to any Viper purchased new prior to the 1/2/18 expiration of the coupon. This would act as a reasonable incentive toward the purchase of another Viper. Of course, this only my opinion.

No way they would do it just for those years.... Would they? Maybe? The real purpose it to clear out current inventory, not give away '16. &'17's... so Maybe ^^^^

Yes exactly. That is exactly what the certificate is. It is only to be used on 13-15 so this rumor that guys are using it on 16 and 17's is not true. They are not giving away these things. They are clearing the dealer lots and rewarding us few owners willing to upgrade. I know I'm getting a 2015.

I mean I get what you are saying, but at least you are a Gen V owner saying this - it is amusing when those that didn't take the plunge come in and spout this when they weren't the ones who supported SRT when the car launched...

Well, many (or a few) of us purchased Gen Vs right before the $15k reduction in MSRP occurred. I would have liked to know about the reduction when I got my '14, as would my Dealer. Fortunately, my discount was still more than the $15k so I was able to get the car I wanted (vs. what was left) at a fair price. If the coupon applies to '17s and '18s (ordered and purchased before 1/2/18) then it is of some value as we enjoy our current cars and look forward to the future.

Anyone who recently purchased, likely already got the amazing discounted pricing - just like you mentioned. The only models that I didn't see heavily discounted were the TA's, which were still an easy 10-15K off of MSRP before the reduction. So, this "reduction" just put the MSRP more in line with the actual street price of the car. You didn't lose anything. Those of us who purchased at full MSRP would argue that the later buyers made out like bandits with the super discounted price PLUS the $15K voucher. They basically prepaid you for depreciation that you haven't even seen yet. That alone, is amazing.

Not that it matters to me to much. Someone should really clarify on which model years the certificate can be used. The certificate reads one way and srt says something different. What does the revised certificate say? Kudos to srt and dodge for doing this.

This. I cannot fathom people still whining about these cars and the price. I got a shitload off, AND got $15,000 I can use to buy another later. Who else does that?. Nobody that I can think of.

I really like that I got a car over 100lbs lighter then my ACR. That just blows me away.

Maybe I did not word my previous post the same, but, my point is the same as yours, no matter how good the car is or how good the deal is, a very specific group is going to negative post for some self fulfilling purpose.

I'm not sure but I think a comparably equipped 2013 actually has a higher msrp to begin with because from what I can tell the 2014's got most of the 21H grand touring stuff included in the base price while it was an option on the 2013's.

I'm sure glad that I'm done shopping. Mission accomplished !
