How many people who have a Gen V (at least on the forum) are going to be either trading up or buying a 2nd Gen V now that prices have dropped and the voucher is out.
If the car wasn't great, people simply wouldn't be doing it.

"All" of us are what 500 people? And maybe 25% make a move. Just a guess.

I have no reason to unless they come out with a supercharged Viper and then I might be tempted.

I love my 13 GTS and would like to have another one for a daily driver. A base model could be bought in the 70s, now that's a beater!!!

Yes, a 70,000 dollar car is a beater... Lovely.

I have a black car that I'm always cleaning! A white car would be considered a beater in my family of Vipers!
And beater in Viper language means drive it like you stole it all the time, and take it through the brushless wash!

Are you trading in ,if so what did they give you and how many miles and what year
/model. I may trade for a 2015

Thinking about a 2014 T/A. More than likely will go with a 2015 T/A or GT. Really will depend on what the trade-in on my 2014 SRT would be. If I can write a check for 10K and move up a model year in a few months that works for me.
If not I will drive this one for 2 years and pick-up a 2016 or convertible when the market gets settled out. It is a nice little 15K insurance policy that can potentially get better the longer I wait to use it.

No chance I am trading in the near term. I just purchased exactly the car I wanted in July 2014--a 2014 Yellow/Black Stripes GTS with Laguna Leather and all of the exterior carbon Fiber. My discount was also greater than the $15k MSRP reduction.
Now, if in 2016 or 2017 or model year 2018, something dramitically different comes out, then I might consider it.
In California, we must pay sales tax on 100% of the Sales price (not just the difference in Trade/Sales Price). Sales Tax was > $10,000 for my purchase so I would not want to pay tax again.

Doubt more than 5% of current Gen 5 owners use the coupon. It's lip service but ultimately our babies sitting pampered in the garage just devalued $15,000.

Received mine yesterday and plan on using it for sure. Whether I grab a silly low deal on a leftover 13/14 or apply it toward a new 2015. My starting price on a brand new 15 is $69,995 ($10k less than a z06). The new car has some upgrades, NAV, backup camera and new colors I'm interested in... Why wouldn't I?

Two observations before the phones start up again..................
Alot of calls coming from folks with Gen 3 and Gen 4s wanting to trade up.
Maybe not quite perfect ,but no company has ever , in my memory, given consumers a Voucher to balance out a change in pricing. Frankly unbelievable!!! Been on the receiving end too many times over the years when GM dumped Vettes and then added more rebates, and we sat with used ones on the lot that we lost thousands. Dodge is making a move that is so bold that Salesman/Dealers from other makes are calling me/us asking if what they heard was true? It has rocked the Automotive Establishment and the impact should be the cars move out quickly and once they are gone it would not surprise me that the market goes back up. Demand up , supply down, has happened for years.

I'm interested in trading my '13 SRT track pack for either a white or orange TA. Immediately, if the numbers align right. TA wasn't unveiled yet, when I placed the order for my car, and I consider it pretty much perfect for me.

Not that it wouldn't be cool to have a new viper, but isn't the TA essentially what you have now since you've added aero to your car? Any other differences besides slightly different front brake rotors and front end alignment?

I too Bill think this is "unprecedented"!! BOLD stroke on Dodge's part!! Can't please everyone-some times anyone-Dodge is in the business of "making money"-they weighed their options on how to move inventory and make customers who already purchased at a higher price that THEY agreed to pay not feel the sting of a lower msrp!! They came up with the voucher-not perfect but THE BEST THEY FELT THEY COULD DO given ALL the circumstances and variables involved regarding the Viper!! TOUCHE!!!

I think I read the TA is 3,375. The 13 Track Pack cars are the lightest Gen Vs built by a nice margin.

Keep in mind that there will be a revision, so you might wait and see if a new one gets there on Friday or Monday, Boostsaves.
Shooter I would have your Dealer pop in a note to your Rep. just to get them alerted since it was so close to the price reduction.

Hmm that's odd. I just got off the phone with Chrysler incentives and they stated that this is handled by a third party company who sends out these vouchers as a lottery system. She claimed that only 799 of these coupons have been issued in the US so far. It seems as if I am not included in their "Targeted" incentive.
Kinda lame since in the press release they said ALL new Gen V viper owners would be getting one.

There appears to be 3 things that added 81 lbs of weight between the 13 Track Pack (3,297) and 14 SRT w Sidewinder II wheels (3,378):
- I heard they added sound deadening to all 14 models.
- 2 piece rotors aren't an option in 14.
- 14s have the 12 speaker system standard vs 9 in 13.

SRT Track Pack (2013) is the lightest version, ever. That is what I currently have.
TA weighs a tiny bit more due to
Solid (instead of hollow) front and rear sway bars
Carbon aero
Larger brake calipers, and thicker brake rotors
More standard speakers
Electronic shock system

I can't believe they won't have 2pc rotor options on the '14 cars.

They are standard on the GTS now. Used to be an option on all cars. TA has them standard, and technically it is an SRT model.
