If someone from outside this forum was asked to describe the thread content within this forum with a short sentence, what would they say.

Aren't forums put in place to help the owners or future owners? Look at the current threads, what percent are useful and what percent are meaningless.

Forum posts have definitely scared away would be buyers. For years now some of the most critical folks of the car have been viper owners themselves. Self proclaimed naysayers whom were probably just trying to force down resale value. And now that it's occurred probably still won't buy one anyway. #irony.

While there is still a lot of noise, I think the tone has improved. There are still a few that will complain about the car no matter what - first it was "too expensive", now "I can't believe they did that, now it is basically priced like a Corvette!"

Still not a lot of technical threads, but perhaps that is because there isn't a whole lot breaking or can be done yet. I assume now that HPTuners has been released (oh and the typical complaints there too) we'll see more "useful" threads.

I can sum it up in one word: crap.

A moderator would do well to combine all of the current price/discount threads into one to clean it up. It's the same thing over and over and over and over again.

Whats your point.? It's a vehicle that stirs up a lot of passion. Regardless of what we or anyone else say or do, there will always be naysayers and trolls. If your looking for threads to be deleted and more moderation...I know just the place for ya.

Light on tech content, heavy on the drama...this place doesn't look all that much different to be honest.

I think you guys are right on target. I'm blown away by all the complainers and whiners. We have a car that is kicking the crap out of $400,000 Ferraris and yet the supposed fans of the car are complaining about ridiculous stuff. From "Dodge should offer coupons on ALL SRT vehicles, "to what's that going to do to the resale value of my car?" Speaking on my own behalf, I'm grateful to Chrysler for creating such a low volume, superb race car. I wish the complainers would go buy a Corvette and leave us alone. For everybody: The Corvette is a nice car....IT'S NOT A VIPER.

There's not a lot of tech because not many people have purchased Gen 5's let alone modding them. Now with the price reduction more cars will get out to consumers and more technical threads will develop. The news with the car right now is the pricing hence the threads.

Moderation was not the point, Steve(above) sums it up perfectly, 50% of the posts on this forum are, "CRAP". Maybe you have a lot of time to waste, but, I believe the majority of us would like to to see the passion put into meaningful posts. I did not start this thread to win friends, it is the truth and a pure statement of fact, this forum is turning into a dysfunctional family. You seem be in the minority, most of the responders seem to agree.

You are right about one thing, we all have options. If you look back in time, many of those starting constructive threads have either slowed down their posting frequency, are no longer posting or have become bystanders. Instead of complaining about reality, why don't you submit a good technical post about your car that can help others. What am I missing, are you blind to the facts.

I guess I am just tired of someone starting a thread and then 50 people piss all over it, "ya" get it,

Thanks Jack,

Jaguarforums.com is full of some seriously passionate owners as well, and there's definitely been mixed reactions from existing XK/R/RS/GT owners to the new F-Type/R/Coupe. But the difference is the critical XK owners discuss their views in their XK forum and don't pullute the F-Type enthusiast's forum with their disapproving opinions.

Viper owner "passion" is often given as an excuse for bad behavior on all Viper forums, IMO. Everyone has put in their 2 cents on the Gen V forum for long enough, and it's time for owners of all Gens to get out and enjoy their cars, make useful posts in their respective forums, ask questions of owners if they are considering a purchase, and let the Gen V enthusiasts (owners and prospective buyers) finally enjoy their cars with like-minded enthusiasts. If we all did that I think you would find more useful threads posted as the focus shifts from the pessimistic to the enthusiastic.

SRT/Dodge has heard everyone's abundant criticisms loud and clear, and I'm sure some have been very helpful and appreciated. Let's now give them a chance to implement the variety of changes that the announcement indicated.

I agree with Shooter and others here. So long as the Viper exists and is dominant the haters are gonna hate. This is nothing new and has existed for years. As more owners get their hands on a GenV and being posting their experiences the tide will shift away from the trolls.

Remember, Trolls require constant feeding. Don't feed them.
