Don't know what else you could have done to correct this mess. I do certainly appreciate the effort. Knowing you have to lower the base price to be competitive and giving us the same 15K discount on a future Viper. Now a voucher to get one of the first Hellcats for MSRP would really sweeten the deal. I certainly would tell everyone I know how great Dodge treats their high end customers. Your dealers would still get sticker for the Hellcats and a lot more would be out in owners hands and not sitting in dealerships with 25K market adjustments on them. Just a thought.

I don't think you need a voucher to find a Hellcat at MSRP. Just shop around a little and it's easy to find a dealer that will order one for you at MSRP. I was just at a local dealer on Sunday and they had 5 on order for customers at MSRP.

I am also very pleased at what Dodge has done to help keep the Viper alive. I hope to be ordering my Gen V next year.

Hate to break it to ya, but I don't think Hellcats are gonna be sitting around unsold. 1 or 2 idiot dealers might have crazy markups, but I bet 98% of the cars will be in peoples driveways. There is a much wider market for the Chally.

Unfortunately there will be a limited supply of Hellcats produced. Here in S.FLA there are a lot of people with stupid money and the dealers that get them will be asking well over MSRP. I've ordered a Viper in 1998 from the dealer that sold me my 2014 only to have it sold out from under me when it came in because I wouldn't pay more than sticker.

Currently here, not a single dealer will take an order for one. If I have to I guess I will buy out of state like I have with the past 5 out of 7 new Vipers I have purchased.

From what I understand dealers can't yet - Dodge still hasn't released all the info.

Hellcats are not limited at all. They are "make as many as we can sell" status

I don't understand why the warranties are no good if you bring a Chrysler car from the US to Canada? Does Ford and GM have that kind of policy?

If they build 5000 units only (not sure if this is correct) this means 100 per state and less than 1 per county on average. There will be gouging in Florida. Dealers I have spoke to have said they expect 3-5 cars only. Some only one. Looks like 'transport time" again.

Dealers have too much power...the dollar exchange has been wonky for years.

Originally it was Canadian cars coming into the United States, because the Canadian dollar was at 62 cents to the greenback. There were all sorts of rumours about Canadian cars being built to inferior specs just to put the fear into Americans about importing a Canadian market car.

However the exchange situation reversed a few years back and suddenly pricing that was steady at a 60 cent dollar exchange didn't make sense at par. Most of the car SRPs only got slowly and grudgingly adjusted so the dealers and manufacturers were seeing huge profits off Canadians. As a general rule, the Canadians didn't complain, and only a few smart ones decided to import cars from the US into Canada.

Of course, the (greedy) dealers don't like competition (some manufacturers got sued*), so the only tool they really have left to protect their regional monopoly is the warranty. Honda/Acura and FCA are the worst, they outright void the warranty upon importation. I believe Ford allows warranty transfers. Other makes are in between. GM will only allow warranty work once 6 months 12,000 miles are past.

I believe the only organization with the power to change this situation is Chrysler Canada. They have a lot of pull within the whole situation, but they are looking after the dealers and not the drivers. The pricing is pretty bang on now with Chrysler products, so it's more about dealer pricing and selection rather than SRP savings though.
