I look forward to seeing the article. 3rd (effectively second since the 918 is not a real competitor) is stout. It would have been nice to see the Viper edge out the GTR. I suspect that the particular Nissmo was on R Compound Tires, stripped and lightened and about $170k, but I will wait to see the whole text. This likely makes the Viper the first "real" sportscar in the test.

The TTS popped a nice peak mph.

Awesome, but I thought the TA would out lap the competition by a little more. The z28 is also very impressive. It's down on HP and up on weight but puts down some awesome numbers. Would really like to see what TA would do on trofeos, I think maybe 2-3 sec would be shaved off.

Not too shabby, the Viper is just a beast. Yes it is interesting to see how well the Z/28. Tires are a big part of which cars excel. I don't remember what tires come on the GT-R Nismo, anyone know? Heading to the magazine rack tomorrow!

Here is one! ...this is the first time I have seen this configuration run at VIR since 2005... the Grande course is awesome! You lose the large back straight but gain so much more technical turns in the infield. The shot above with the GT3 was taken at the bottom of the spiral. Something like going from 17 to 33 turns from fullcourse. Alot of high horsepower classes did not like it because they lost their advantage (backstraight) and event holders just couldnt afford to rent VIR for a weekend with that setup. Very fun!

Has anyone here run the Grande course? I moved away from Virginia and was wondering if this was now on the menu so to speak at the HPDE's these days...

I drove the "full course" this summer, which by-passes the extra corners of the "grand course", and knew the TA excelled on that configuration. But it wasn't until three weeks ago when I got the TA on a really tight track that I discovered how dominating it is in the twistiest bits also, and knew it would do well on this test's configuration.

Two days ago I was on a high-speed track with this tests 911 Turbo S and was extremely impressed with it and it's highly trained driver. I was trying and data-logging new corner strategies and running very fast 1:34's, and the 911 was running almost unbelievable 1:32's with just lighter wheels and Sport Cup 2 tire mods! I seriously wondered which would be the quicker car bone stock.

I think any of the top 7 finishers could probably be the fastest car on track on any given day depending on the skill of its driver and choice/availability of track tire. I'll have a better chance of being on track with all 159 2014 TA's than one Porsche 918 being tracked at speed, and maybe all 33 Black TA's before I'll see a Nismo GT-R, but I'll be sweating buckets and shedding pounds with all the Chevy's...and a track friend will be leading the charge in a C7 Z51 he's modding right now!

Thanks to Ralph and all of Team Viper for designing and building such a world-class, and track dominating, exotic supercar. I'm just in awe of it after 10 track days of probing its capabilities, and never more-so than when just cruising down the highway reflecting on that performance in complete comfort. Just outstanding!

Great to see. That Z28 is impressive. On paper, it should be destroyed. It'll be interesting to see the TA 2.0 make a run.

On that list, I'm most impressed by the Z/28. LOL that it also brutally beat up on it's big brother C7 Stingray. Corvette fans everywhere are going to cry foul, until the Z06 comes out.
