Greetings viper owner greats.

Who makes a clutch for a 04 that's less of a workout for my leg and can still handle 700 ponies?

We have dual disc clutch and flywheel combinations that offers a soft pedal, nice engagement and the ability to take 700-1000hp. They feature sprung discs for quiet operation and a choice if friction materials (Organic or Meba) depending on your power level.

Your 04 would require a crankshaft trigger flywheel. The clutch/ flywheel options range from $1600 to $1800 depeneding on use. Each clutch is built specifically for your use.

If you want a clutch with a light pedal, smooth engagement and the ability to take lots of hp and abuse. We can help.

Thanks for the info Dan. Can you approximate how lighter the pedal feel is ( 50%)?

Is there someone in the Minneapolis metro area that has a gen 4 with a stock clutch that I can try. I don't want to drive it, just need to experience how heavy the clutch pedal feel is. I'm interested in upgrading my clutch to a Gen 4 setup but I want to make sure the "feel" will be worth while. Thanks

Knappster, [JASON?] Yes. I can arrange that. 2008 ACR in Chisago City MN

But as Dan noted, an AFTER-market single or twin can provide less rotating mass ( 8lbs!) and a less resistant pedal feel. So experiencing the OE G4 will be stiffer than what would be suggested ....

The pedal effort is lighter than a Gen 4 dual disc, which is much softer than a Gen 123 single disc.

I bought my twin disk clutch and flywheel from JonB and actually just really got to drive it for the first time this afternoon. We weighed the stock against the one from JonB. It saved me 20 whole pounds. Gotta love losing that kind of rotating mass. No doubt in my mind the car is faster accelerating now.

The clutch action is much lighter on the leg. Holds up to 900lb ft of torque. Only downside is the chatter, as per the MFG should go away in the first 1000 miles. I drive my car alot, so no biggy.

Proofs!

This is the info I needed. Thanks all. At this point, there's no reason to test how a stock gen 4 feels if it's firmer than what I'm considering (thanks anyway Jon). I'm going to more forward and upgrade.
