Had a blast this weekend seeing the team race. Many thanks to the whole Dodge/SRT team for hosting such a great event. My only regret is not getting a sweet shot of Jonathan doing a freakin wheelie on the track!

Thanks, and yes it sure was. Disappointing considering the guys were running so strong but I suppose if you're going to lose position due to an issue, that's about as cool as it gets! What a testament to his driving for maintaining control of the car.

You would think that with the awesome return to traditional Viper racing red/white this car would sell the same day!

Great photos. I watched the race last night. Incredible. I thought the Vipers would take 1/2. Not sure how they ended back in 5/6. VIR is on my bucket list to both attend this race and to drive the track.

Yeah - that was one of the best races this season to watch. Viper's dominated the race on speed, but the pit strategy ended up winning out for those other teams. That track looks amazing, I'd love to drive it someday.

Beautiful pictures. I would have loved to have been able to go. We did however watch the race on tv.

Thanks Much for sharing the pix.....love that track! Shocking to see the underside of the #93 car entering the Esses..YIKES! So much for whether or not the dive-plane-canards matter......THEY MATTER!

Ben Keatings 'fire call' on # 33 was both funny and scary.....

It was one of the most competitive races of the year..... I love the fact that the Prototypes were NOT 'cluttering' our fields!

Simultaneously, there was Viper Racing in World Challenge at Sonoma same weekend. The Team was awakened in NAPA at 320am as the hotel glass cracked, mirrors fell, and power went out. Scary....the track was OK, as were the roads to it.
Bad finish for Knox tho, 17.....

It definitely is a fantastic track. That was the first time I visited VIR and hope to get some HPDE sessions in next year. I drove the car down from MD in just under 4 hours…great ride!

Wasn't sure what was going on with Ben, but they didn't seem to be running well from the start. It almost sounded like he wasn't able to push the car all the way as if there was a problem, but I didn't catch any follow up to validate that.

The race was incredibly exciting with both cars running up front. The team seemed very confident going in that they had things figured out. Honestly, the frustrating part is the full course cautions that ultimately reset the field. I suppose that helped Bomarito make his way back to the front but the long caution for the Porsche that simply went off track was totally absurd, IMO.

I can't help but suspect that kinda stuff is simply done to keep the viewers entertained by getting the cars back together but c'mon, this is RACING! The BMWs, Porsches and Ferraris were all running about 1hr 3min on a tank of gas and had more than that time to finish. They should have had to pit. Team Viper was smart to get Bomarito in to clean off the grass from his Nitro Circus stunt show then give him fresh tires and gas. Marc's pit threw him off too, but I think he'd have been good for 2nd or 3rd. Unfortunately, the team suffered with an unnecessarily long caution that saved the other teams from having to pit. Absolutely nothing our boys could have done. They drove the hell out of those cars and truly were the team to beat!
