Oh we'll, I guess I'll TT my gen V :)

The down side: the viper's DNA seems to have moved to other cars ( mainly hood). I feel less special :(

This is good and just what you want from the Viper. If it injects a little venom into another car then a bit of Viper spirit is in that car. This is what the Viper means and is there to do to the Brand. It is a good sign to get mentioned in the marketing.

You're absolutely right, but shouldn't the viper take for granted that it outclasses the other cars in every way ?
(Since it's the halo car)

If the Viper isn't dead (hopefully not) - I think we'll see something big for Gen VI. I hope they invest what they have into the Hellcat into the Viper.

According to the timeline, which is on track with the hellcat announcements, a midcycle refresh is scheduled for the Viper for 7/15. I expect something on the same lines as the hellcat stuff for improvement on the Viper.

The article has the following quote from Tim K:

"This is a car most brands would never bring to market," Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis said. "This is a car that you absolutely cannot build a business case for. But sometimes, you need to stop listening to the focus groups. Sometimes you need to build a car that defines itself."

I would love to see that attitude towards the Viper.

Good to see Dodge developing into the high performance brand that they planned it to be. They are building a ladder for their customer base to climb and aspire to buy, while at the same time elevating the brand's image to cross shoppers that are also needed to jump in at the top.

Also good to see some positive reaction here. The metrics that the Viper needs to excel in are those used to evaluate sports/GT cars, not muscle cars, and they can and have nailed them all with less power than their muscle car offerings like some other brands also do with theirs. Now we just need more buyers to discover the Gen V Viper.

Good to see the SRT brand moving forward with the Challenger and Charger. I have to believe that something BIG is in the works for the Viper. It never ceases to amaze me the amount of people that video Vipers when you're out on the road driving one. I'll bet that the Challenger and Charger Hellcat will never get the same attention.

Best commercials for the Viper are a coffee commercial and an Auto Trader commercial. Don't remember ever seeing a commercial from the company. :(
