Illinois VOA Invades… EUROPE!?!
Yes, that is correct! The title is not a typo… Illinois VOA is taking our passports and jumping the puddle to head on over to Italy. This has been an effort discussed for the last several years and working with one of our members and sponsors, Jason Allen (Go Get Lost … Worldwide Adventures), to put together a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Go Get Lost … Worldwide Adventures is a travel company that specializes in extravagant and unique trips to select destinations. Jason and his crew really took the lead in helping us create something amazing. Also, being that they are experts in European travels, we can rest assured that things will go smoothly. So, let’s get down to fun stuff… the details!
Overview of Destinations
As we have already mentioned this is a once in a lifetime trip. Go Get Lost…Worldwide Adventures and Alex teamed up to create a private itinerary for our group. This won’t be your average bus tour, we wouldn’t settle for that, we’re going to go over the top in our usual fashion. We’ve pulled together an incredible eight day tour of Italy where we’ll get to experience both the finest in Italian automobiles as well as the food, culture, and landscape of classic Italy. We’ll spend our first four days in “Motor Valley”, the heart of Italian automobiles. Where we’ll experience the Ferrari Museum and Ferrari Test Track, a Lamborghini Factory tour and museum, and we’ll visit the Pagani factory and museum. We’ll even have the option of taking a Ferrari out for some laps on an Italian circuit!
After we get our fill of automobiles, it’s time to experience the true Italy. We’ll visit what is considered to be classic Italy, including Florence and Tuscany. We’ll eat incredible food, drink Italian wines, take cooking classes, see how they make Balsamic Vinegar, and so much more as we explore this beautiful region of Italy. All this…while enjoying the camaraderie of our Viper friends and creating a memory that will be there forever. Not ready to go home? You’ll also have the option of extending your stay in Italy for three more nights to explore the wonders of Rome.
Timing & Cost
For a trip like this need to be planned well in advance, and we have. The timing for this trip is planned for mid-2015, we are shooting for June 15-22nd! The cost of the trip will be $3,995 per person! This will include most of your meals, all your tours, 4 star lodging, all transportation during the tour, and much more. This price does not include airfare (allows people to use frequent flier miles or to extend their stay). This is a private group tour for the Illinois VOA at a special price for us. A special section of the GoGetLost website is setup for our trip. You can access it directly by visiting http://www.gogetlost.com/italy-and-automobile-tour.
Due to the nature of the trip we are going to be limited on the number of travelers we can accommodate. While we would love to extend this great opportunity to our friends in other regions we didn’t feel that would do justice to our Illinois club members. This trip will be limited to only 22 attendees. Because of this, we want to make sure everyone has plenty of opportunity to learn more about the trip, before feeling rushed to sign up. Sign-ups will be accepted starting at 9am CST on Monday August 11th. Sign-ups will be accepted on a first come first serve basis and will require a $500 non-refundable deposit to reserve your spot. In addition, if you sign up and put down the required deposit by 5pm CST on Friday September 12th, you will receive $200 per person off the trip price, from Go Get Lost. If there are spots remaining, sign-ups will be accepted through January 31st, 2015.
We’re sure you’ll have plenty of questions, so we want to provide you with several resources to get your questions answered. The best place to start is the Go Get Lost website, specifically, you can visit their Frequently Asked Questions section. Most all the questions and answers will apply, although there are some differences because this is a private group tour. You can find it here: http://www.gogetlost.com/faq/ Next, you can contact Go Get Lost via email at info@gogetlost.com. If you’d rather talk to someone in person, you can call them directly at 1-888-522-LOST (5678) and Amber, Jeff, or Steve will be happy to chat. You can also contact Jason Allen, a fellow club member and Go Get Lost co-owner at jason@gogetlost.com. As always, you can reach out to our club president, Alex, with any questions at alexr@illinoisvipers.com. Hope to see you there!
