10/11/14

10:30 a.m. at Jordan Creek Town Center in west Des Moines Iowa. This is a great area to feed our snakes. We can meet up with other regions at this location.

11:00 a.m. Head to Jethro's BBQ N' LakeHouse 1425 SW Vintage Parkway, Ankeny, Ia. Should arrive by 11:30 ( looks like great parking and good reviews on food)

11:30 to 1:30 Meet and greet all while enjoying some BBQ!

1:30 to 3:00 cruise Saylorville Lake Reservoir area and surrounding areas. Take some great photos. Hopefully let a few local snakes lead the way and show us the area.

3:30 ice cream stop TBD.

4:30 head for the hill my friends. Slither on home or back to the hotel.

Nothing is set in stone and we love to roll with the flow. Lets make this happen and make a fun day of safe driving and a low key event that's fun for all. Suggestions would be appreciated. I would like to capture a car count along with a head count for lunch reservations

This date has been set but could be amended but i feel this is the best date to accommodate all.

Hell, if we're going to do this, lets not screw around!! Lets make a weekend of it. I know an incredible place for dinner. The food is awesome, they have a great bar with some of the best imported beer you've ever had, and there are nice hotels close that are cheap. Suites even!! We could have the ladies go shopping in the antique district in Historic Valley Junction. They'll love it. Ton's of shops, restaurants and fun things to do. Antique car memorabilia for the guys. Sunday we could have a cruise out and about or just go through town on a kind of poker run without the poker. LOL I'm willing to bet my boss would offer up his parking lot for a Viper show and shine on saturday. I manage a local auto shop and I think he would jump at the chance.

I'll do all I can to assist. You guys can just call or text me at 515-249-1793. There are some small suite type hotels that I've stayed in before. Nice rooms on the cheap. or there's always embassy suites down town. It's central, easy to get to and has a very nice atrium to hang out in as a group in the late evening. There's a bar there too. Just contact me and we can figure it out. If you're interested in the Saturday show and shine for a couple hours or so, let me know.

The breakfast available at the Embassy suites is the best I've seen in a hotel. Even free made to order omelettes and all the bacon you can eat. Very nice atrium with waterfall and lots of seating etc. Great place to wind down the day and start a new one. Even had my wedding reception there.

1:30 to 5:00 spirited cruise and SHOPPING (get the ladies excited) Saylorville Lake Reservoir area and surrounding areas. Take some great photos and head over to Valley Junction for the ladies to do a little shopping.

5:30 Head to IRENAS Russian steak house.

9:00 a.m. breakfast and celebration of our club presidents attendance one day late. Location tbd!!
10:30 12:30 fall cruise (mark lead the way!!)

Looks like I have a yes from at least two other local cars for this shin dig.

I am one of the locals that is a yes, at least for Saturday. Just wanted to let everyone know we have a Cars & Coffee in Ankeny on 10/11 from 7-10 am. Might be too early for everyone coming from out of town but I usually go (it's the 2nd Saturday of every month while weather is good). Pretty good mix of cars from a couple Ferrari's/Lambos to alot of Camaros/Mustangs/GTO's etc. They have an all-wheel dyno that cost $50 and the highest HP car would win half the proceeds from all the dyno runs that day (or at least that's how it was last year, not sure if they still do that). Obviously the turnout varies from month to month but I expect a pretty good turnout as long as the weather is nice. Something to chew on. If no one's interested I'll still plan on meeting you guys at Jordan Creek area as I live about a 1/2 mile from there.

I'll go case the place this weekend to see if there's a more wide open locale to meet in. This is a great area to feed our snakes. We can meet up with other regions at this location.

11:00 a.m. Head to marks workplace Acheson Autoworks (8000 University ave. Clive, IA) for a show and shine with catered food from Jethro's BBQ (Courtesy of Sam Acheson) and enjoy a great shop!

We will have a DVD of our choosing (hopefully home made car DVD) played on their wall sized projector during dinner if we like. We can eat, drink and party till we drop! Or we can swing down to my place right down the street and party there for a while. Bring your swimsuit! I have a Hot Tub!!
