VOA members and Viper enthusiasts: your support is needed this week, as the VOA partners with the employees of the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant (CAAP) to serve the most basic needs of their community. As in previous years, CAAP is sponsoring a canned food drive to benefit their local non-profit Operation Get Down (OGD), and the members of the VOA will be stepping up during the NVE1 Homecoming to make this year's donation a resounding success.

Since October of 1995, each Viper has literally come to life at Conner; these talented and dedicated workers hand build our engines, fill each chassis, and produce an incomparable sportscar that we literally trust with our lives. This is our chance to show them that we appreciate and honor their work; that we stand beside them to support their charitable efforts. This is our opportunity to demonstrate, together, that Viper has a heart.

There are three very simple ways to contribute:

1) Bring canned food to the Homecoming
2) Donate at the door when visiting Conner
3) Donate directly via the VOA PayPal1 link: http://www.paypal.com

Rest assured that each dollar you contribute will be used to purchase food for the those in need, right there in CAAP's neighborhood.

Whether you can attend the Homecoming or not, this is your chance to send a message to both the employees that built your car and to the manufacturer that has kept it alive: Viper Nation appreciates you. We are Built in Detroit, and we care about our home.

Please join us in contributing this year; do it right now, if you won't be attending the Homecoming.

Thanks in advance for your generosity,

Dayton Erickson

Let's identify the VOA as the club that cares.

More than 1000 members won't be able to attend the Homecoming, but that doesn't mean that they can't send a clear message to both the employees of CAAP and Dodge/SRT. I hope you'll take a moment to donate to this worthy effort.

Fantastic, thanks so much for your generosity. This is about Detroit, and an extremely needy community... CAAP has really stepped up to serve their neighbors.

Thank you Sybil! That's what the Viper Community is all about--giving back to those who are in need. And thanks too for showing your support for our manufacturer and their employees.

Good post. thanks for the reminder and bringing more attention to it.

I'm sure we'll set a record with what they'll have once the club is done with them!
