Sweet. Thanks for sharing. My buddy is looking at purchasing one of those bikes. Gonna have to show him this video...

I'd be more interested in seeing a 1000 Super Sport Bike comparison . Or a 1200 cc V twin Panigale R :)

I agree with with J TNT. The Triumph is a nice bike but i would rather see the TT run against a liter sbk or a Panigale R.

This was not letting the nuts hang out; shifting between 4-5K on low boost and slow on the throttle.

The triumph isn't a litre bike by any stretch but still a bike. They are capable of mid 10s at 130mph in stock form. Typically much easier to launch a bike on the street than a high hp turbo car. That was my experience from my street bike days.

Why do people think bikes are unbeatable? This Viper should trap 140mph or which is a lot faster than this particular bike is capable of.

Yeah, bikes are definitely beatable... but they are tough! In a straight line, a bike's advantage is at low speeds and launching.
I had a Triumph 675 before the Viper. I know my Gen III wouldn't beat that bike, I downgraded in terms of speed going from that to my Viper!

If the car was a G2, would there still be naysayers hovering like a group of vultures. Why is it that a certain group always has negative G5 comments no matter what the thread is.
Why should anyone put up a positive G5 post knowing it will draw negative posts. Take a look at the Alley ' s G5 post volume, there is none, the same could happen here. The travesty is that the majority of these posters have no skin in the game.

BECAUSE BENCHRACERS.
Just like with cars, finding a fast bike with a fast rider, is rare. Most are over-biked for their skill level.
Isn't the news in this the TT gen5?
Who cares about the bike, let alone a 600. Been riding & tracking liter sport bikes since 1987 myself, they're fast, so are fighter planes, and sky divers, and ..
Cool to see a TT gen5, would love to see it at a track & showing some #s, vs a few suicide midnight back road runs. lol

Yes, that we know of. The red RSI build with the rollcage, this white one, and the other member-built car here.

They are sourcing my AEM Infinity harness, and did the tuning on my Gen 3. They tune all my cars. Someone has to be first :)

Make sure they have the ecu figured out! That's the hard part on these cars! <speaking from gen 4 experience>

Have to claim some kind of "problem" The RR stock is a 9.9/147 Rocket. $15000 Bucks. And to Jack, I do have skin in the game. Have had an SRT Trk/Pac and now a 2014 TA. My 7th Viper. Also have an RR. Obviously different animals. Allan

If I remember correctly; my setup is the first car to actually be a "street driven" version.
There's a few gremlins......I'm not going to lie. I should have some answers this week.

Moundir,
I took it up to 11 Lbs on pump gas before I got nervous (there was still zero KR but one only wants to tempt fate so much on a $20K motor).. That's right at 1100 RWHP....
As far as the tuning package that I developed, I am told that it is now tied up in legal. As a side, the EPA has decided to attack/threaten a lot of aftermarket tuning Companies with a vengeance (gotta love Lawyers!!). (which really sucks for the folks on this great site)

Wow, 1100rwhp is insane on a stock engine! What's the problem with legal? Just label it "off road"use only and call it a day lol. You gotta get this out to us owners and future owners!

This is probably the reason legal is involved with the MOPAR PCM, because this happened not too long ago. I am sure MOPAR doesn't want this to happen to them.
RE: SCT Off-Road Diesel Programmers
Dear SCT Customer,
We regret to inform you that, effective immediately, SCT will no longer be offering for sale any of the following SCT products:
9625OR
9621OR
3025OR

ORTUNE
Our decision to discontinue these products is based on recent statements made by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) regarding diesel performance products intended solely for racing/off-road use. The EPA and CARB have taken the position that the manufacturer of such products is solely responsible for the proper use of those products by the end-user. Despite our best efforts to carefully develop and implement procedures designed to ensure that each purchaser of our off-road/race-only products is aware of his or her legal obligations and promises to use those products in a lawful manner, as of this time we have not been able to gain satisfactory assurance that such measures will be considered adequate by the EPA and CARB. Consequently, we have chosen to withdraw our off-road/race-only products from the marketplace until we are able to verify that the sale of those products can be achieved in a manner that satisfies EPA’s and CARB’s concerns.
We will continue to monitor developments with regard to applicable federal and state legal requirements. If and when we are able to re-introduce these products into the marketplace in a manner that definitively meets all EPA and CARB requirements, we will do so. In the meantime, we trust that you will understand the basis for our decision.
Thank you for your continued support.
Regards,
Rick Trudo, President - SCT Performance, LLC.

The liability of end-user usage is pretty rectifiable (in my head) without having to GPS lock-out tunes (see: GTR). Similar to the Hellcat, make every tuning house sign a waiver taking responsibility, and then, each tuning house makes its customer sign a waiver. Perhaps as a sign of good faith, Mopar packages each offroad PCM with a red keyfob (hellcat) that stores GPS data on the blackbox. If both black and red keyfob are inside car, PCM defaults to black key tune. Of course that means tuning the black keyfob tune with EPA regulations. But if we have 1100hp twin turbo pump gas cars, im sure a modest 800ish street horsepower tune with the proper GREEN high-flow cats could be done. Id be surprised if it wasnt already in the works. but paperwork ties EVERYTHING up. How Chevy and Ford manage to get past, Im not sure. Leaking the opensource coding to the public would probably be seen as both undermining the EPA and CARB as well as losing needed profits for Mopar and their sister/brother/parent company. The argument could be made that it would boost Viper sales, but really, its a gamble. and although many potential buyers are out there- a much smaller number than even those willing to buy-in want to buy in solely on tuning ability. 640hp is still a LOT of power to master, and most of the population doesnt live in Atlanta or Houston where most of the UGR cars end up. If Fiat wants to sell Vipers, fix the customer service and dealership problems combined with a reserved HP bump to just nudge out the Hellcat. Vert/Targa options in 2015, ACR (sales pending) in 2016.
