Lotus Evora, Viper, GT-R, Z06, Maserati Granturismo Sport, Porsche 991 C4S. These are pretty much the 90-125k range. Any others?

We talking used? Right now, I'd say C6 ZR1. Can be had for 75k all day with low miles. More potential than most of those others.

Used I'd say gen IV ACR for track, and ZR1 for roll racing. New and stock I would say Viper TA/SRT Track Pack/GTR/Z06 tough damn call.

Skip the XKR-S unless you want a vert. Traded my XJL supercharged for one. Big mistake. Even though it is heavier the XJL-R has the better transmission and lots more technology than the XK series. They are almost equal performance wise. The F series is very sporty and is 20K cheaper but you can't take your friends to dinner in it.

The F type was behind me on the highway the other day and I swear I thought it was a Ferrari California until it got closer. Looked great. I was in the Maserati & smoked him though. Lol

I'd say the F-Type

F-Type is a stunning car but watch the panel gaps. They are worse than the Viper yet no one seems to comment on that in the reviews. Quite interesting because I was looking at about a dozen different F-Types at the dealership and the hood shutline along the front bumper on the wheel arch seems like there is a ton of variability. I thought the one I saw at the car show was in an accident it was so bad. Then I saw the inventory at the dealership and I realized it's just British. :-P
Other places with noticeable gapping is the rear hatch on the coupes. There are two triangular pieces near the bottom that weren't so even as well.

If we are talking new, Gen 5 TA has got it for looks but most "bang" or performance for the buck will likely be the C7 Z06, especially if they keep to the 80k initial pricepoint rumors (which I find unlikely). Even at 95k, I still think you are going to get the most performance for the dollar with the GM offering given it's got the blower factory and capability of tuning.

Audi R8 over all of your list except for the Viper... and not sure what parameters you're looking for - if you had to live with it every day in New England then R8 all the way.

R8 is awesome but new it's like 200k for the V10. I definitely think you could DD it.

Jags like Maseratti do nothing for me sadly.

I guess it depends on what your parameters are..? the v8 version starts at 115 K, handles "better" depending on who you ask, and looks essentially the same. It's not as "fast" as the V10 or vettes and Vipers, but certainly faster than the Maserati or Jaguar. Under 125 you could add the carbon fiber side blades and engine compartment trim if you want looks, or the carbon ceramic brakes. At the root of it, I assumed "bang for the buck" is a practical call and therefore looking at a DD option?

Good call on the V8 version. Forgot that one. Speaking of 8's the 8 version of Bentley comes in south of 200k too. I daily drove the W12 version for a year and all winter through 100 inches of snow, seriously.

They (R8) are sweet looking cars and definitely livable day-to-day. IMHO, the V10 is just adequately powered though at 520-540hp and the V8 is significantly underpowered for the pricepoint and styling.

Forgot to add Hellcat to the list!

does anyone have a sense of the pricing on the Hellcat? I certainly hope it's not close to the 90k mark? (not to say it wouldn't be fun in different ways than the others on your list, just hoping it's closer to 65-70k)

I tried getting an order guide from a local dealer but no dice yet.
MB SL63 should be added to the list.

As should the new Range Rover Sport.

GT-R by far. Especially if you are going to do some upgrading to like an AMS 12....run an 8 sec quarter mile and drive home getting 30+ mpg. Downside is the automatic transmission. Maserati's have the worst residual value of any car company.....4 year old Gt for 67k - check ebay, autotrader. I drove a GT for a day in Hawaii, they're fun to drive, but I wouldn't buy one, they follow Ferrari servicing, aka very expensive! A z06 will be hard to beat for the money, even a ZR-1, but most Viper enthusiasts won't ever consider a Chevy! Just my $0.02
