Makes perfect sense to PARK a safety vehicle ON THE RACETRACK in a narrow blind section of the track when the grass immediately on either side of the track was available.

WHY was that safety car just sitting on the apex ??? and a blind apex for that matter that and the other car that slowed down once he saw the safety car. He was stuck trying to fit it in a funnel.

^^^ Agree A safety car PARKED on the track should have more than yellow flags being waived. This is insane, can you imagine how scary it must be at night it they manage the track this way???

Schweinhund drivers mit der American cars est verbotten. Rules, we don't need no stinkin rules. Seems in most racing lands double yellow should have been accompanied by white flag indicating emergency vehicles on track and emergency vehicles should not stop in a blind curve but well ahead of any problem so no one gets their ass knocked off. But we don't care how anyone else does it, this is the 'Ring!!!

There was an in-car video in the Mini posted yesterday, however today it looks like it was moved to private.

The Mini was moving at quite a clip and the view from in the car when the Viper smacked it was intense.

The Mini was moving at quite a clip and the view from in the car when the Viper smacked it was intense.

Saw that. Looked like the Mini missed the yellows as well and went (unpredictably) heavy & sudden on the brakes. Some speculate that the speed limit penalty under double-yellow provokes sudden, unsafe braking...

Bridge-to-Gantry: "The nature of the computer-monitored, big-brother, 60kmh speed limit in a double-yellow makes you brake like hell whenever you see one."

Unbelievable to see a safety car parked on the track under yellow!

I have seen this happen many times at racing events during a caution. For some drivers the adrenaline and focus, or lack of, ruins the day for them and others too.

If only the cars were fitted with a caution system to notify them right away instead of small flags..
