GEN V pricing (Canada)

I have been working like a dog the last year and I badly want a GEN V but prices are crazy high.
Nearly all GEN V are above $140000. If I add local taxes I will end up paying $170000 !!
At this price I will rather buy a 2yrs old Lambo or Ferrari and will have sex every day.

Are there any base GEN V available in Canada or the States below $100K ?

States yes, you can find a SRT model with few options for that. Not many, but a few.

Peel Chrysler is advertising a 2013 GTS for 120k. Pretty sure you can find SRTs in the US for under 100k but importation to Canada voids the warranty from Chrysler. In Canada you probably could find it for under 110k, sharp negotiating now for 100k in the west now that the snow is here to stay.

In States there are more Viper under $100K, they sell very quickly. In Quebec rare are the ones below $130K + tx (a lot here 16%).

Well one reason they are more money here is the Canadian dollar value vs the US dollar. You buy a car there for under 100K and by the time you convert the dollar value and the transporting and all the other fees associated with importing into Canada, and you have yourself a 110 thousand dollar car once again.

There are a lot of great deals here in Canada. With a viper member discount and some dickering for a discount, i'm sure you can get into an SRT for under 110K out the door.

The C7 is selling in Canada for about 5% more than in the USA. Im waiting till the deep, dark, frozen winter before even attempting to deal with the dealership. It looks like the deal on the G4 I was hot to trot for has fallen through so Im going to pull the trigger on a TA I think.

Do Canadians pay less tax rate on used vehicles? The reason I ask, is I've sold a few of my trucks in the past to Canadians that flew down to TX and drove them home. These were usually 2 yr old vehicles, highly optioned.

If so, maybe consider a used vehicle? There are a few out there already.

Good concept Nine Ball, but more and more the concern is complete lack of warranty coverage if one takes a car up to Canada from the US ( same applies if Canadian car is sold down here).

Easy to do a flash now, though, to get the daytime running lights activated for Canadian law. Plus a form must be completed showing no outstanding recalls, RRTs, etc. for the vehicle going North.

Canadians have been getting ripped off on SRP vehicles by a lot of the manufacturers, so bringing up an 'almost new' vehicle is a great cost saving option for them. You pay tax and duties (for non USA/Canadian content vehicles) and that's about it.

Warranty games by the auto makers is what is p*ssing off a lot of consumers looking to import, and usually because the manufacturer and dealers are trying to protect their extreme margins in Canada.
