Okay guys, I'm new to the viper crowd I just bought a 2004 silver about one month ago. I already have random tech ceramic cats and corsa track. Now I am wanting to get a gen 4 good however oem ones seem impossible to find. So I'm entertaining the cf hood idea. I was thinking to get the good then have a vinyl guy black the trunk and essentially make it look like an acr with silver driver stripe. I just wouldn't have black wheels until winter and I would not have the aero pieces. Any opinions if this would look good? Or has anyone done this before?
Thanks in advance

That is basically what I did to my car, so I can give you some insight.
First, I personally don't think the blacked out rear on the roadster looks good. The coupe rear looks great like that because there is not as much deck space so not so much black part.
Second, The front, with the Gen4 hood and the ACR color scheme, looks GREAT! (I also installed black ACR wheels, which really makes the look work imo.)
Third, The black vinyl really shrinks and expands with the sun. I did mine in vinyl because I wanted to see what it looks like before painting it, but vinyl, with all the overlap lines and expansion/contraction problems, is not the way to go for very long.
Fourth, My car is a Copperhead and adding all that black REALLY raised the temp of the car!
In the end, when I paint it I think I will go with the rally stripes rather than the ACR look.
Here are some pix, before the new wheels though:

Man your car looks great, who ever did the vinyl did one heck of a job! I wouldn't change a thing...a big thanks again for the S/S letters, although I haven't had a chance to install them yet, still need to pick-up some 3M tape.

Is your hood OEM? All that is available seems to be the seibon carbon fiber ones. From what I can find it seems these are good products they just need you to get new hood struts or use a prop stick is that about the only downside? Sorry for the noob questions

Yes, it's OEM. The center section is not as high on the OEM hood and I liked that style a little more than the aftermarket hoods.
a big thanks again for the S/S lettersNo problem, glad someone will get some use from them. Don't forget to send a pic when you get them installed. :)
