Our first track day of 2014 is at hand! Time to knock the dust off the cars. As part of changes we made this year, we wanted to try a new track for all of us - Blackhawk Farms! While Blackhawk has been around for a while, they've recently made changes to the track to make them Viper friendly, so we're going to pilot the track with the ambition that it will become one of the three different tracks we do each year! Some of us know Blackhawk, it's a course that is safe, not too high-speed, and short/easy to learn. We think you'll like.
This will be the same format as we usually have. Instruction is available to all drivers as well as driving classes (included in the cost of the event). A catered lunch is also included. The cost for the day is $350, you can pay at the track when you arrive. For those running the entire season, we ask that you send in your seasonal registrations so that you can get your discount and be pre-entered into the computer. For those new to the club or perhaps have been a member and never tried a track event, we have a rookie program that allows you to try one track event and one autocross completely free - take advantage of it!
All the info for this event and our whole season is up on the website. Lots of great detail can be found for each event: http://www.illinoisvipers.com/racing-coming-events/. On the website you'll also find a GREAT and extensive write up on the proper way to drive a car on the track, it's worth reading: http://www.illinoisvipers.com/driving-tips/
As I mentioned, another change we made this year is that no preregistration is required (except for full season drivers). All we ask is that you let us know in advance you'll be coming by shooting an email to Mark Schumann, our Performance Driving Director. His email is MarkS@illinoisVipers.com.
We look forward to ring in the season with a new track!!
