Almost 11 months of ownership, I am around 6,200

Curious to see if people feel they are driving their Gen V more than previous generations.

Wow, good to see someone is enjoying it.

I've been daily driving it and LOVIN' it but after my first experience with rain I went out and got a Wrangler to dd. Still plan to put the miles on the Viper when the sun is shining!

Wow, good to see someone is enjoying it.

I don't understand this, its like saying those who don't have many miles or use it as a dd is not enjoying...

2900 miles since August.
Brought the car in for service last week to get the oil changed for the second time (first service at 1000 miles), and got them to check for a small whine coming from the back when cruising, turns out they found some metal dirt in the rear diff oil. They changed the whole diff under warranty and all is fine now.

I think the JonSav is suggesting that enjoyment is enhanced with use. I'd have to agree.

Would have to disagree. I would hate to have to use my toy car as a DD or just drive everywhere. Sometimes I get just as much enjoyment by throwing a coat of wax on her and just admiring the curves while smoking a cigar in the garage.

Sorry, but cars are for driving. How you can possibly get the the same sense of enjoyment from waxing as driving is beyond me (verging on bizarre). No doubt waxing and admiring is nice, as is the sense of pride in ownership .... but actually DRIVING a Viper is what it's all about. Sorry, we're from very different schools. (shrug)

Sorry, but cars are for whatever the purchaser who used their hard earned money to get them want them to be for. Same sense of enjoyment-never said that, different, but enjoyable and fulfilling non the less. You can drive your Viper all day long...take the kid to school-pick up the milk-go to work-go home from work---bla bla bla, doesn't mean you're actually DRIVING a Viper. I don't use my Viper as a means of transportation but as a toy meant for spiriting DRIVING whether street/strip or track...(shrug)

I am.

15k since 2007 in my '06.
9.6k in 1 year in my '13.

The newer version is more enjoyable to drive, and much faster stock.

You don't get it. Like I said,

No I get it. The suggestion, is that more miles enhances enjoyment as you stated. That's an opinion and nothing more. For me when we're talking about Vipers, its the kind of miles that matters and makes enhanced enjoyment (kind of like a quality vs quantity manner). See, that's my opinion. Now you got it.

When you drive it once per week it feels special & like you're getting into a new car every time you drive it. Not saying a DD can't feel special but looking forward to the ride all week adds a component of further enjoyment when you finally push to start.

On the one hand I agree that if you just want to look at it, save the coin & buy a poster. On the other, a weekend toy feels special and new each Sunday. Either way, it's a great driver's car! The hellcat looks like it would be a wild DD!

1750 mi in 8mo, but it sat in the garage for a LONG northeast winter. 1200 mi first 2 1/2 month, then winter. 500 plus mi in last month or so.

I'm at 302 miles. Hoping to out another 100 or so miles on it this weekend. I choose not to drive it to work for certain reasons. That has made it tough to drive it as much as I'd like to. It sure is fun to drive when I do.

No doubt about it. Your 3 months of ownership, 500 miles and 150 posts definitively say "You've got it!

BTW- Seriously, you think I'm the right guy to test here. All I do is help folks as best as I can (among our group of moderators). I'm obviously an owner who finds the thrill of driving to be the substantive reason to own such an extraordinary car. There's no doubt that a significant number of members are garage queens and that's absolutely fine. In fact, it's great for sales. But to suggest that the thrill of polishing and viewing your Viper is equal to the experience of driving is just silly. Ton's of legitimate reasons why an owner might not want to drive their Viper, and all those reasons are quite valid. But other than you, I seriously doubt any other owners would, under circumstances that didn't hurt their wallet, or their time (family or business) or the dozens of other concerns, rather polish their car than drive it. It simply makes no sense.

I don't even think YOU believe your opinion as your posted it. Read it again.

As for this thread, I too congratulate those that drive their damn Vipers! I've put over 80,000 miles on mine (predominately on weekends and club cruises) and still wish I could drive it 100 miles each way to work every day. I will agree with you that I never get enough of looking it, but I far more never get enough of driving it.

test you...lol, seriously??? lets leave tough talk for the streets mmkay...
and throwing out member stats....really??? Come on, I'm a paying member here regardless of our difference in opinions. Seriously unwarranted.

Yes I am Viper owner for three months and have a low post count, so that makes me less of an enthusiast??
I've had several "toy" cars, prior to the Viper including track and strip time and am registered for NVE...I believe "I've got it"

Putting the polishing thing aside, as far as the "mile" thing is concerned which this thread is primarily about, its my opinion that mile count doesn't enhance enjoyment and the type of miles do...I wouldn't be happy driving any1 of my toy cars in the rain-going to the supermarket-shopping at the mall...etc. etc, so to me (once again), the "ooh look at me mommy, I got 1 million miles on my Viper" is just silly...So I wouldn't congratulate someone for their count alone (but great for them if that's their enjoyment)----that's just me, and that's my point. They would however get a congrats for tracking or going for a spirited run with the boys. Its a difference in view, nothing more and I never said I'd rather polish my Viper rather than drive it...but if some1 did buy their Viper solely to polish it, drive it in the rain or even blizzards...well then that's their biz..

current mile count-726
