Well, since I drove my TA up to Tennessee early in anticipation of the upcoming Tail of the Dragon event, I decided to have a little Cosmetic Surgery performed on her.
A very good friend of mine and fellow Viper owner, Matt Chambers, owns one of the premier Paint shops in Tennessee called "Randy's Customs". Matt has excellent taste in performing this type of Cosmetic work. So I let him have at it and as you will see from the "work in progress" pictures the TA will be greatly improved. I will post more photos once the car is totally complete.
Engine covers now match the body color
5041
Custom Snake in body color on darkened center brake light
5044
Brake calipers now match the body color
5045
Custom painted center caps
5046
Darkened tail lights
5047
I will post the other changes as I get them.

Great personal touches. Just don't know if I would have the b__ls to tamper with an Iconic car such as the orange TA. If your keeping it great, but, if your every looking to sell it, it may hurt it some. Your market is smaller and the dineros usually the same size (smaller)
That said, I would have done the same thing.:dude3:

I really like the tasteful touches you did on the TA looks great. Personally really like the calipers. I don't really dig the stock ones. But the stock TA calipers do a good job helping hide brake dust for those that don't have the special brushes to clean the calipers when washing and detailing their vipers.
Looking forward to seeing pics of the finished car complete.

Slitherv10 - yeah I thought the same thing at first. Glad u like it.
Derek - the TA window sticker says "orange calipers" but only the Carbon edition had them. Well, I fixed that problem ! LoL.

With exception of engine covers and snake brake light, I already intended on doing the exact same changes. Very nicely and tastefully done. The orange calipers is something that should have come stock.

Excellent mods, all of them. I'd also suggest having the vinyl TA and nose emblems replaced by airbrushed versions of the same thing. Would be sweet.

Are the vinyl emblems under the clear coat? If so, I would leave them. If not, yeah airbrush would be a great touch!
I like what OP is doing. Small changes like this really make a car feel personalized!

No, they're just stuck on top.

Looks awesome. My mods are a few weeks away. How difficult is it to remove the taillights?

The only disappointing thing about the TA (cosmetically) to me is that the deviated stitching on the wheel isn't orange.

Yeah Dave, looks great. The only thing that would make that TA look better is if it was sitting in the middle of the track.....like VIR the first weekend in June. Come drive it on Friday.

I totally agree. SRT has it in their press photos of the car but they deleated it on the production TA's. Not on the shift knob as well. All I can guess is that someone thought that it may be a warranty issue if the stitching got dirty so they just eliminated the idea????

I'm thinking it was just too easy and convienent to share the steering wheel and shifter with all the other SRT's, rather than having an additional wheel wrapped for the TA.
My GTS has silver stitching on the steering wheel, so I doubt they are worried about wear and tear.

Good idea for the original poster. Any upholstery shop should be able to re-stitch the wheel with orange thread. Steering wheel is easy to remove, with the right tools.

There are guys on the Lambo forums that have taken highlighters and actually colored in the stitching to match the exterior color of the car. Wish I could find the thread, but it actually looked pretty good.
